mad_marc Posted June 14, 2004 Report Posted June 14, 2004 Hi, for all those poor basstards of you who can't afford a kitescooter thus had to stick to a skateboard on anabolic steroids so far... ...check this out: http://www.windscooting.com/2ndhand.html Marc -- censorship spoils my spelling Quote
pyromunky Posted June 15, 2004 Report Posted June 15, 2004 Bit lik a dirtsurfer really, How do they handle? Quote
mad_marc Posted June 16, 2004 Author Report Posted June 16, 2004 Bit lik a dirtsurfer really, How do they handle? Very well. In fact they overcome quite a few of dirtsurfers limitations (low speed instability, asymetric footstraps, oversize, overweight). Check out the vids on that site to see what I'm talking about. Marc not too sure about that! my surfer is pretty stable at low speeds! just practise! doubled strapped so the footstraps are symetric. its big yeah but bigger wheels are such an advantage. as for overweight, my racer comes in at 6.5 kg. lighter than most four wheelers! sifer 1 Quote
sifer Posted June 16, 2004 Report Posted June 16, 2004 Yup, Dirtsurfers are still pretty stable at low speeds, but who rides slowly? Although I like the layout and thought you have put into your boards, although you still only have a metal plate as a brake. I think your design has a way to go yet before it can really compete with the rest of the scene. But good luck and all the best in getting there. Quote
rasga Posted June 16, 2004 Report Posted June 16, 2004 The brake isn't really needed for kiting though, IMHO, from what i found. Quote
Ally Posted June 16, 2004 Report Posted June 16, 2004 reckon id rather have a scooter than a dirtsurfer simply on the basis that surfers are directional. toesides all well and good but could get annoying. Quote
tom1599968574 Posted June 16, 2004 Report Posted June 16, 2004 directional, er, ok yes it is but last time i checked, the wind scooter was as well!! the steering mechanisms on both boards meam you cant ride backwards (unless you exceptionally talented which so far, no one is!). its not annoying, just part and parcel of riding a two wheeler.
