Bob Monkhouse Posted June 9, 2004 Report Posted June 9, 2004 but its convincing myself to actually go out and do them. Yeah but what a buzz when you try something and find it's actually a piece of ....cake. Like 180 switch to toeside. When you're going along heelside and thinking right 'I'm gonna do it now' for the first time ! Quote
HORLEY_KITE_NUT Posted June 9, 2004 Report Posted June 9, 2004 and find it's actually a piece of .... and its even worse when you have been worrying about it for ages before hand LOL Quote
bushflyer Posted June 9, 2004 Report Posted June 9, 2004 it is a buzz for sure. i pulled off a new move at wallop for the first time and was so stoked i even did a little tim henman style claim! probably made me look a bit naff but it felt good! Quote
bushflyer Posted June 9, 2004 Report Posted June 9, 2004 its called the faschizzle (a 180 slide to blind with a revert handlepass with a boardgrab and 180 out to heelside) some of the move is shown in the photo thread i posted. Quote
No Fly Zone Posted June 9, 2004 Report Posted June 9, 2004 Anyone know of a 'kite moves' dictionary for old fogies ?!? I've mastered the 'doddery' (going in a wiggly random pattern both ways across a field) and want a load of moves to practice. Yo doodz ! Quote
rasga Posted June 9, 2004 Author Report Posted June 9, 2004 Selfish Plug, www.kiteatb.co.uk has a nice selection of things, and i know that a moves video list would be nice too! Quote
bushflyer Posted June 9, 2004 Report Posted June 9, 2004 me n rasga are working on this, more soon. Quote
boggled_iam Posted June 9, 2004 Report Posted June 9, 2004 Yeah but what a buzz when you try something and find it's actually a piece of ....cake. Like 180 switch to toeside. When you're going along heelside and thinking right 'I'm gonna do it now' for the first time ! Know what you mean Bob. Cheers for giving me the kick up the Ar5e to try it. Need another session on't beach to play some more:D Quote
Bob Monkhouse Posted June 9, 2004 Report Posted June 9, 2004 No worries Boggloid. Bushy, can you just clarify what a 180 slide to blind is for me please ? When I do a 180 slide to toeside, I pivot around the front foot, pushing the back foot towards the kite ending up with the lines around my side that is facing in direction of travel. Am I to understand that 180 slide to blind is the opposite ? ie. pivot around back foot, pushing front foot towards kite and ending up with lines around the side facing back from direction of travel ? Always had bother getting my head round that one. Quote
bushflyer Posted June 9, 2004 Report Posted June 9, 2004 three little words: pass the bar. winds up and i have stuff to do. be careful! Quote
Bob Monkhouse Posted June 9, 2004 Report Posted June 9, 2004 three little words: pass the bar. What about if you're on handles ? Mind you got the new 80cm Flexi bar on order (& an 8.5 ) Quote
fivefoothigh Posted June 10, 2004 Report Posted June 10, 2004 Well i want to nail my 720s (ie not luff the kite) then maybe 1080s would like to put grabs into my 360's.. one footers are also on the menu would like to but keep getting stabbed by the speader bar blind just seems dangerous and i can relate to flyin scotsman's backward rolls Quote
bushflyer Posted June 14, 2004 Report Posted June 14, 2004 Anyone know of a 'kite moves' dictionary for old fogies ?!? I've mastered the 'doddery' (going in a wiggly random pattern both ways across a field) and want a load of moves to practice. Yo doodz !if your pretty competent why not try the 'faschizzle' http://www.foils.nl/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=545&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=[url=http:// more moves in this section to come, plus theres some more pics in the gallery. get trying! stevelives123 Posted June 14, 2004 Report Posted June 14, 2004 i dont want to cause conflict but I have always thought of blind to be different to what you've got there Bushy. My idea of blind is - going left foot forward you rotate left foot towards the kite 180 degrees and ride with your feet facing away from the kite with the depower strap passing round the left hip and pulling from the right. Basically it is like backwards teside. Please correct me and share other views on blind. Quote
The Flyin Scotsman Posted June 14, 2004 Report Posted June 14, 2004 Ditto, was just thinking the same after looking at your photos bushy, that is not blind. Kev Quote

muppetdude1599968590 Posted June 15, 2004 Report Posted June 15, 2004 first spins now blind - half u lot claim u can do this and that and dont even friggin know ur left from ur right toe!!! amazing how people dont bull**** on a beach when there about to hit the water - still pmsl about the kids who claim they do full on kite loops on land - sceptic muppet p.s. im only ever sceptic about bull**** postings - i believe what i see blindside is the opposite of toeside but ur riding backwards to the original direction looking away from your direction of travel Quote
The Flyin Scotsman Posted June 15, 2004 Report Posted June 15, 2004 I know a few landboarders who can do Downloops, and one who used to be able to do full kiteloops. I agree with your description of Blind Muppetdude. Kev Quote
bushflyer Posted June 15, 2004 Report Posted June 15, 2004 isnt everyone happy today? well descriptions aside, im gonna keep spinning forwards, backwards, landing with arms in front, behind, trailing or leading. dont care what its called this week. still waiting for the frontside/backsdie thing to be resolved, seeing as kiteworld cant even make its mind up. there is more to be said on the blind issue, but now's not the time. go out and have fun instead!
