jase Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 I'm looking for a decent, but not necessarily expensive, kite bag to keep a Flexi Orbit, a Flexi Super Team 8 and a Rev. Ideally I want a zip-up, fold open bag with slots for the kites and seperate pockets for lines, hand;es, etc. Any one got any ideas? I've seen the Prism bags, and although very nice, they are a bit pricy. Quote
Agger Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 You could try a fishing rod holdall I know several sport kiters who keep their kites in them or what about one of those student document carrying tube things ??? Quote
lava_lamp Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 both identical, both look decent & cheap as well: http://www.bilboquet.com/product/27_3/1588_sac_de_transport_atelier_various_items.html http://www.bilboquet.com/product/27_3/1587_sac_de_transport_bilboquet_various_items.html some of the guys on fractured axel rate them. desciple Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 the blbo bags are nice but if you want a cheaper alternative to the Prism bag you would do well to give Dave Maddocks at Spirit of Air a call as he has the Dodd roll up Burritto bag if I am not mistaken. It does all the same stuff the Prism (I love my Prism bag) for a fraction of the price. Quote
wind-dreams Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 the dodds burrito is not cheap. i know i have one. I work at Spirit Of Air and we have a nice New Tech bag which is black in colour with two good sized pockets on it. RRP is £39.99 (HMMM) the big burrito bag is RRP £84.99 (WTF) A DECENT FISHING BAG AS SAID ABOVE IS GOOD THOUGH. Quote
kitejan Posted May 25, 2004 Report Posted May 25, 2004 I have a bag from Decathlon - really huge (hold nearly all the kites) - and only about £11 I seem to recall. Maybe overkill for your needs now - but there are always more kites in the future Jan Quote
hir0 Posted May 28, 2004 Report Posted May 28, 2004 Don't get either of the Bilboquet bags. The review on the second link is mine. I got my bag for Christmas and it's absolutely unuseable now. Every zip is broken and the handle has ripped a 2" hole in the outer fabric. The inner kite-pockets are all ripped at the bottom. It's a shambles. Go for one of Chalkie's hold-alls from http://www.kiteworks.co.uk/Holdalls.shtml Quote
BigDavey Posted May 28, 2004 Report Posted May 28, 2004 Another option is give Chalikes a ring http://www.kiteworks.co.uk - His big bag holds a load of kites - is well made and won't break the bank either. It's also endorsed by Davey HTH Quote
dnahacker Posted June 9, 2004 Report Posted June 9, 2004 If you want cheap then look at a hockey stick bag, thats what i used for years, none of the kites you mention are long when packed, they also have a nice pocket for yer bits and bobs have a look at http://www.field-hockeydirect.com/stores/fhd_bags.asp?groupid=5&seriestype_id=33&pageno=1 Quote
oc1rob Posted June 9, 2004 Report Posted June 9, 2004 Recently purchased a bag from The Highwaymen. Tough material, well made. We got the basic one that will hold maybe 10 kites with not extra pockets and stuff like that but it doe the job nicely for what I have at the moment. Was £20 from memory Quote
