Icebird Posted October 12, 2007 Report Posted October 12, 2007 Too late for this years season I am afraid...But I have got a peter Lynn 19m Venom for sale, good condition, TET modified kite. 10-20 knots on snow 16-22 knots on water. Very gust resisitant (which you will need in the Australian snow) and with a large depower range... including bar and lines $650. I have been using this same type of kite on Expeditions, snow, flatwater and in the waves for 3 years now, This one belonged to a mate who passed away (not kiting at the time) See pictures on kitesled.com Cheers: Pat Quote
lincpike Posted October 30, 2007 Author Report Posted October 30, 2007 Hi Pat, checked out the kitesled site, looks like a great challenge. ended up buying a 2.5m ozone from a couple of guys in canberra. thought i'd go small for the transition from water to snow. was fun on skiis but by the time i got time off work the snow was pretty patchy. no shortage of speed though. heading down to Casey Station as doctor in about 5 weeks and looking fwd to a few runs then. would be keen to get a kite big enough to tow a kart and gear. interested to check out the different surfaces and how to best negotiate them kartwise. good luck with the antarctic exped'n. looking forward to seeing how it unfolds. your site is right in that kiting has the potential to revolutionise antarctic travel. let me know if you are getting near Casey, Lincoln 0402385554 lincpike@hotmail.com Quote
