peajay Posted March 17, 2004 Report Posted March 17, 2004 Planning a new buggy shortly, question is, is it worth getting the wide wheels upgrade when I buy it, I will be bugging on grass and sand? Opinions gratefuly recieved, thanks, PJ. Quote
big-jon Posted March 17, 2004 Report Posted March 17, 2004 This one has been discussed very widely! I would suggest doing a search mate! Basically, wider wheels means more grip. If you like doing tricks then maybe barrows would suit you. If you like speed and fast turns then go for the wide option. Most people run either big foots or big foot lights. If you run on both grass and sand then maybe you could go for something like some scorpions, which provide great grip for grass, but some might say slow you down a bit on sand. Basically it is down to your preference. If you buggy more on sand then I would advise going for some big foots with at least 6 grooves in. As smooths will still give you a lot of side slide. Whatever you decide - have fun ! Quote
chunk Posted March 20, 2004 Report Posted March 20, 2004 for reg riding & tricking around keep to barrows, if you are going for speed go for extra wides or big foots if you are going this route you may as well go for wide axle for stability, my advice save your hard earned money!! at the end of the day its horses for coarses. .....cheers chunk Quote
peajay Posted March 21, 2004 Author Report Posted March 21, 2004 At the end off the day I plumped for a flexi buggy with wide wheels as it was only an extra 30 quid and I'm a heavy bugger at 16 stone so the extra rubber will hopefully spread the weight, should be in the post next day or two from coastguard, all I need now is a day off work and some good wind. Cheers PJ. Quote
