peteretep Posted November 29, 2003 Report Posted November 29, 2003 just off the water and i nearly got killed by my strom 2 safety system. was getting dragged towards the beach so i decided to leash out. bar went out about 1 foot and then got stuck on a knot connecting the leash to the line. the kite looped round and i got dragged up the beach. chicken loop somehow came out of the harness and kite flew up the beach. has anyone else had a similar problem with this leash system, and if so how did ye fix it? if not what other bars would you reccomend because its not the first time this has happened me and i need to sort it or get rid of it. Kite Guru Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 I have 3 storms with said system. I don't trust the finger on the chicken loop its self. So what I have done is, I got a old harness line cut one end off and placed the harness line on the spreader bar between the hook. Hook into chicken loop then put harness line end behind chicken loop into hook to lock chicken loop in place have had no problems with chicken loop coming off hook Been riding like this now for a good 5 months with no problems tested out ok. Have had no problems with safety not working. Quote
peteretep Posted December 2, 2003 Author Report Posted December 2, 2003 yeah i know, ive also had problems with the dick on the chicken loop falling out. happened me in the waves once and i lost the kite down the beach. the fact that it fell out saved me on satuarday though because i didnt get a chance to pull the release on the chicken loop.
