I'm heading out to Australia round about Xmas time for a year, and was wondering if anyone knew of any places in particular over there where kiting in its various forms is done.

I'd especially like to try out kite-surfing, so if anyone could tell me of any decent schools there where I could get a few lessons it'd be much appreciated.

Well kite shops there is a kitesurf one in perth, WA, (think its near scarborough beach. . .might be totally wrong there)

Then KitePower.com.au Who have a shop in san soucci, Sydney; and also one in Geelong (near melbourne)

Also a kite shop in adelaide i think, though i never did see it, and dont know if they do Ksurf tuition

You can hire boards in the kitepower store (ATB's) and i beleive that both stores do ktiesurf tuition, though check that out with steve and goshen.

Yep they do. The place is called 'The Kite Factory' and Phil there does tuition.

The web site is: http://www.kitefactory.com.au/

Have a look at the school section

There is a big kite surfing group, on a good day you can see 20-30 people on the water (must be something to do with the fact that it's WARM :) )

There are about 10 buggiers, and we use the beach further up the coast (approx 1-2km). You'd be welcome to come along on a sunday and have a go in my buggy if you want. Nice to see another bee flyer and also someone I can rant to about living in the uk (cos I was there for 13 years). PM me if you want some more info.

:)
