Biggmisster Posted October 23, 2003 Report Posted October 23, 2003 Im getting a new kite today and its a big step up from my 1.5 Bullet. i'm getting a 3.0 metre Blade III. I only weigh 8stone11 so it should be a fun day for me. Quote
Sparhawk Posted October 23, 2003 Report Posted October 23, 2003 If the wind picks up today like it has done the last few days (i.e. as the day goes on - the wind gets stronger) It was nice knowing you. Make sure you leave a note for your parents Quote
Caramboo Posted October 23, 2003 Report Posted October 23, 2003 It's a bit scary that there hasn't been a reply from Biggmisster yet. Quote
Biggmisster Posted October 23, 2003 Author Report Posted October 23, 2003 Caramboo, im still alive...just. With me living inland its abit gusty and of course it gusted and caught me not paying attention nd i was over on my front being dragged for about 10-20m friction burn on chest isn't ht gud. Quote
Caramboo Posted October 23, 2003 Report Posted October 23, 2003 You were flying bare chested! Radical dude! Glad to know you survived the maiden flight though. Quote

Biggmisster Posted October 24, 2003 Author Report Posted October 24, 2003 Richard B i live in melton Mowbray which is near to loughborough if u want to meet up Quote
RichardB Posted October 24, 2003 Report Posted October 24, 2003 Yer sure, will have to get together one day. Do you come over to Ruddington at all? We should be down there on Sunday if the weather is good Quote
Legend Posted October 24, 2003 Report Posted October 24, 2003 Hey Biggmisster! Blade III 3m - good call... Don't listen to the ppl who say you wont be able to fly it, I know guys who are 15/16 years old and who are good enough technically to handle anything you can throw at them! Hope you're having fun with it bud, give it horns on me! Cheers Quote
RichardB Posted October 24, 2003 Report Posted October 24, 2003 Im 20 but only weigh about 9 stone and it has its advantages. I can easily get picked up with my 3m Buster when other people are standing around with bigger kites I dont have a problem flying it untill there is a gust then I just go straight up and land on my arse Quote
Biggmisster Posted October 24, 2003 Author Report Posted October 24, 2003 im not in ruddington much, I've had alot of ppl tell me tht a blade III will be to much for me to handle, which is alod of Bull **** I dont weigh much so it is perfect when there isn't much wind but when its blowing a gale i get out my mini kite as i call it (1.5 Bullet) which is perfect for some skidding. Quote
RichardB Posted October 24, 2003 Report Posted October 24, 2003 Yer you should be alright with it as long as you dont take it out in too much wind. Ill be down Ruddington on Sunday if the weather is good. I will hopefully be flying my buster 3m or a stack of up to 9 stackers cause somebody is lending me a load Wonder what will happen if I stack that many hehehe Quote
Rivertay Posted October 24, 2003 Report Posted October 24, 2003 I enjoy my Blade III 3 as much as any in my bag. It is so fast in the air and so responsive. But....take your eye off it for a second and...you know the rest of the story. My 8.5 stone 18 year old daughter was severely trashed in the summer so suggest you use kite killers and let them take the strain when it gets hairy... :D Quote
