Man_in_UK Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 The limit of 5 meters on a 4-line kite is not a real problem. A Blade III 6.6 has a 5 meter span, If you cant have fun with one of those your doing something wrong. Quote
Man_in_UK Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 P.S and when I said fun, fun in the safest possible way. (flying RC planes in strong wind is fun. Not only does it test your reflexes, it also means you get the flying site to yourself ..... no self respecting aero-model flying type ever takes their pride and joy out in a wind) (not unless they like to test their reflexes or like the site to themselves) (but I dont class myself as a self respecting aero-model flying type) Quote

Exactly what I do... Was at Camber on Sunday (120 mile trip) for the early tide. But found it way to windy to fly my 4.5m Had a go with a New Eolo Pro 4m mid morning, which pulled even more, so spent lots of time flying my Stunt kite over the sea at high tide. Before going to watch the kite surfers at the other end of the beach. & they have even bigger kites... Average size was around 9m and a few 12 - 14m. LEI yet they weren't getting dragged down the beach or out to sea.... But one or two were getting BIG air.... Quote

Planet Mike Posted October 17, 2003 Report Posted October 17, 2003 Been at work for three days solid! First time I've been back to the forum. It was good to meet everyone up on the Downs on Tuesday. Had a good time and a good natter! Also got my first try of a four-string kite (cheers Obelix!). Mattymoo - sorry I didn't come and say hello, just watching you sliding along behind that big blade was scaring me! Will come over for a chat next time. Hope to see more people from the forum up there soon. PM Quote
