martinwhitley Posted September 29, 2003 Report Posted September 29, 2003 Having just biught a Blade III 4.9m - I tried it for the first time this weekend with handles. As soon as it left the ground it started spinning clockwise about 4 foot above the ground and then crashing. Any reason why this might happen? Quote
rayens Posted September 29, 2003 Report Posted September 29, 2003 Line lengths or caught bridle !! Quote
Adrena1in Posted September 29, 2003 Report Posted September 29, 2003 Sounds like the brakes are too tight. Shorten the mains by connecting the flying line nearer the handle on the leader line...tie an extra knot in the leader if necessary. It could be that the main lines stretched straight away, causing the brakes to be too tight. With the brake-end of the handles pointing at the kite the brake lines should be visibly quite loose. Agger Posted September 29, 2003 Report Posted September 29, 2003 Check your line lengths M8 all four should be the same length, with the brake (rear) lines looking slack when in flight. Line length is critical to the performance. HTH Quote
camel_up_a_tree Posted September 29, 2003 Report Posted September 29, 2003 Well if you cant sort this prob out then id be more than willing to take it off your hands for a good price!!! just a thought!!!! Chris Quote
Gixer Posted September 29, 2003 Report Posted September 29, 2003 Check out THIS post to solve youre problems, it did for me. Good luck Quote
Sir Harvo Posted September 30, 2003 Report Posted September 30, 2003 Deffo the line lengths. Make sure you stretch them or you'll have the same problem after a few flights. Brake lines must be slack on the Blade or she won't fly properly. Once sorted hang on, you wil have list off!!! Quote

martinwhitley Posted October 1, 2003 Author Report Posted October 1, 2003 Thanks for the offer, I live in Weybrdge. Quote
Man_in_UK Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 Well the offer still stands ...... as long as you dont mind a short run up the A3. PM me if you want to talk details, or give a phone number. (for some reason you dont have the "send private message" icon at the bottom of your post, that might not help) Quote
Tsamop Posted October 3, 2003 Report Posted October 3, 2003 Happened to me when I got 1 leading-edge bridle caulght around the stopper knot below the larks-head where my front lines attach. Just having that one bridle caulght (shorter by about 8") caused the kite to really spin like crazy. (Was on a much bigger bladeIII) Quote
