muppetdude1599968590 Posted September 20, 2003 Report Posted September 20, 2003 practice in waist deep or shallower get someone to run thru the procedures and demonstrate on the beach best thing is dont ditch the kite wind strength /kite size /aspect all are imporatnt considerations strong winds = easy to tug a line and it will flip light winds =technique and swim and pull in lines and hope in light winds u can practice on the beach - pull lines move towards kite etc etc watch what/how kite reacts to ur input my only direct teaching input is u need to roll the kite onto its back - so it looks like a letter c with the wing tips pointing up at the sky understand the mechanics of that and ur on ur way however in deep water its alot harder stay safe Quote
NO WIND Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 Just buy a closed cell foil and forget the rest of the bull......like turning the kite on its side, swimming towards the kite, bringing it to the window edge, falling all the time in gusty winds, pumps, punctured bladders etc etc Quote
