walty666 Posted September 6, 2003 Report Posted September 6, 2003 Today I went on a mission to buy a mountain board. I got a new EXIT camo board for £83 (£80 for the board, £3 for the nuts n bolts) from Halfords cos someone had disassembled the front truck and noone in the store could put it back together! I got home, fixed it, took it out for a spin behind my 3.0m Viper and bob's your uncle............broke my leg (nah, not really). Board works a treat, channel trucks are a bit beefier than some of the skate trucks about, so if your local Halfords has got one in it might be an idea to get a spanner from the Tools section and pull the truck pin out? Apparently they were retailing at £120 earlier in the year. Quote
weaponxrob Posted September 6, 2003 Report Posted September 6, 2003 got a good deal there m8, my local halfords has one was £150 now down to £99 still not to to bad for a mountain board Quote
dtb488 Posted September 6, 2003 Report Posted September 6, 2003 Apparently they took them off the shop floor cos loons were riding them with kites. Can you imagine that happening? There was a previous post which indicated that they were going cheap. Haggle is the best way apparently!! Quote
slideth3 Posted September 7, 2003 Report Posted September 7, 2003 I got mine for £65 because it had a few scratches on the bottom. Only problem is it clunks a bit, has anyone else had that problem? Quote

RedShift1599968581 Posted September 8, 2003 Report Posted September 8, 2003 Jock off this board bought one of those, and after 2 weeks, and twice having to go back to get the exit board replaced due to failures got a Scrub board. I think you really need to check the tension on the nuts and bolts, and make sure nothing is loose, they have a habit of loosening very quickly Quote
Eskrima Dave Posted September 8, 2003 Report Posted September 8, 2003 I've used mine a few times and had no problem although there is a ratle sound when moving, for £100 you can't complain too much. Time to tighten my nuts me thinks, MATRON!!! The Bag. Stackers 6,8,10 Little Devil 2.1 Bullet 3.5 Razor 4.5 Blade II 6.4 Peter Lynn folder Exit ATB Ace wife and 2 sprogs. Quote

jock Posted September 10, 2003 Report Posted September 10, 2003 I thought it was a good deal as it is identical to the scrub easy rider so I went and got one. first time out one of the bolts holding the truck in place came out while riding so the truck was loose. took it back and got another one instead. first trip out with the second one, the little bolt at the bottom of the truck holding the spring in place, came out and caused the spring to pop out, again while riding. took it back and got my money back. must mention that i had tighterned all the nuts and bolts up when assembling it and it still happened. now bought a scrub silver reef, much lighter and feels better, quite happy with it, although more money! numb nuts Posted September 13, 2003 Report Posted September 13, 2003 That's good. I was looking at the Exit board in Halfords last night. Now retailing for £99.99. I was wondering if it was any good. Would it suit a beginner do you think? Quote
