Has anyone had experience of buggying with a 3.5 m bullett?

I have just found a site that will supply a new 3.5 bullett for £215

RRP £239.

before I commit, can you tell me if its ok to buggy with or just recreational.

hi there the 3.5 bullet is a very fast kite,i have had this kite for about a month now.my mate used it to buggie with he found it really good,in winds of 5mph the kite flys well and in 15mph and up its turns into a very powerfull kite i think its an all rounder.but not a lot of lift.but it is a buggy kite i give it 8 out of ten,but put 500lb main lines and 300lbs brake lines you will need these in higher winds.hope that helps.

I've just bought one. (paid full whack! - thanks mate!)

I've only flown it a couple of times (on its own), but in a minimal breeze it certainly pulls. and it's obvious the power is in the edge of the window, so it should be good for traction. I've not got a buggy, so I'm only guessing, but it should be good.

Bullet is a stable easy to fly very good buggy engine, but if you are after a lot of speed then go for the razor or raptor, they may be a bit more tricky to fly but do the job extremely well. For general buggying / learning to buggy though I would thoroughly reccomend the bullet.

Don't forget the LITTLE DEVIL

The 3m is about the same price as a 3.5m Bullet

and my LITTLE DEVIL pulls like a train

easily got up to 35mph, and maxed out at 55mph, the first time I flew my LITTLE DEVIL 3M at Hoylake.

Plus its an OZONE product and beautifully made IMHO

Bullets are more of an intermediate kite than the LD's, but mainly because they're less well-behaved - they don't have that much additional power until you get to the higher end of their windrange. Ozone's build quality is noticably better, and the LD's are more stable and easier to handle - which can be a very good thing in certain conditions...

In 15mph winds, the 3.5 has quite a bit of oomph, I've only had it out with the buggy one time in those conditions, and it was a while ago when I was somewhat newer to buggying. Hit racekites.com to read the details.

Definately recommend the Bullet providing you have a reasonable understanding of the whole four line process. Well made and seems good value. I too found somewhere in Essex knocking them out for £215 but it was a case of '...put your name down and we'll call you'. That was three weeks ago. Needless to say, http://www.powerkiteshop.com got my £235.95 and I got the kite the next day.

Enjoy!!

I am looking to get a 3m kite and need to make my mind up between the Bullet and the LD. The LD is without doubt well made. Which kite pulls harder in lower winds? Prices are about the same. What about the new Peter Lynn Rebbel that is about to be launch in the next few weeks. It is meant to put the LD and Bullets to shame?. From an aesthetic point of view which looks better flying, LD or Bullet?

Well I used one the other day and It kept falling from the sky in a heap plus when I tweeked the brake to turn it just kept looping yes it has some pull but it just did not feel right but the 2.5 bullet was a dream to use it was more fun than the 3.5. sorry to say.:)

If there's enough wind for the 2.5, the 3.5 is even better - assuming your kit is put together correctly, or you know what adjustments to make if it isn't. Loops are a textbook sign of too-short brakes (or too-long power lines), same thing if the kite is reluctant to get airborne or flys extremely slowly...

How come you needed to tweak the brake? My Bullet flew straight out of the bag. The brake lines seem perfect length and the kite is so stable that with a bit of practice you can literally spin it like the Revolution. I did have to move the kite killer bungees as they applied a bit of brake pressure but other than that, no problems. Granted, the 2.5 is much faster, but then you'd expect that anyway. Sounds like you may have had a Friday afternoon model.
