Guest rmpjames Posted February 9, 2003 Report Posted February 9, 2003 im looking to buy a kite for use on land, as an allrounder etc. if possible i would like to be able to use it on water for kitesurfing in the summer. I want a powerful kite, but not excessively so. I was thinking of a blade 4.9, but is it worth getting a bigger one, or is there a better kite that i should be getting instead? Any advice greatly appreciated. Cheers, Rob Quote
Chris-Aer Posted February 9, 2003 Report Posted February 9, 2003 The 4.9 would only be good for water use in pretty high winds, other that that it is a really good all rounder. There are however so many options (which are all damn good) that any opinions (you must get this one) are pretty much no more than one persons opinion. The best bet is to try as many kites as you can and see which one works well for you. Quote
p0ssume Posted February 10, 2003 Report Posted February 10, 2003 Rob you dont sound like you have flewn consistantly or already own a kite. If you are looking for a all around kite for general power kite activites then I would very much recommend the blade 4.9 its an absolutly great kite. I wouldn't reccomend buying an inflatable to learn on you will go thru bladders like crazy. Good Luck Quote
HiAsAKite Posted February 10, 2003 Report Posted February 10, 2003 I'm not sure whether you have kiting experience or not,.. but if this is your first kite DO NOT buy a blade 4.9.... you will hurt/injure yourself,.... Buy something much smaller and get experience first.. or go along to try/borrow a few first to get an idea of what they are capable of in terms of power Quote
