Forgive my ignorance but WHAT is an LEI?

and why are Flexi's Storm kites on offer? So the Storm 2 is due out but did Flexi get something wrong? Or just make to many?

Otherwise I'll got and get one or several.

An LEI kite is a normal inflatable kite (I believe it stands for Leading Edge Inflatable). For instance Flexi Storm, Naish X2 etc.

I have never used a Storm but understand they are pretty good kites. They are flexifoil's first proper attempt at an inflatable kite (Ignoring the Nexus which wasn't much cop). The only problem I have heard with the Storm 1's is they may be a little prone to wear and tear. However at the price they are selling for at the moment they are V good value for money. Treat them with a bit of TLC and they should be fine. Slightly more of an intermediate kite but if you are willing to put some effort in you will grow into it.

Thanks Lei is Leading Edge Inflatable I see!

Macca says that the storms are "an average kite compared to the market leaders". Which are these then and should I try to buy a better kite second hand for similar money to a new Storm?

market leading kites? naish x2, north rhino 2, wipika amp. thats not an exhaustive list! look at compo results for what is winning - x2'S!! there ios a lot of hype about storms on this board cos most people in here fly flexi! Everyone in here is raving about storm 2, looks nice but has anyone here flown it??

As to whether you should buy a storm or a higher performance kite, depends how good you are. The lesser performing kites are usually a bit more forgiving and easier for beginners. The higher performing kites tend to need better kiting skills to get the best out of them.

Storms will get you high and quite far into the sport and at the prices they are selling them for...you cant argue!!!
