Hi all,

I was out again today on the beach (I can see this becoming a regular occurance!) and had a couple of knocks.

The wind was gusting, from strong to nothing in a very short space of time, and my kite came down about 4/5 times.

After a quick wash off and inspection, I found a number of small abrasions.

I guess these are all from the knocking it got when it hit the deck (sandy beach with lots of rocks and stones).

Are these serious, or to be expected from driving it into the ground fast. It kinda took me by surprise, so I will (hopefully) in the future be a little more careful.

Should I get them repaired, or are they OK?

thanks in advance,

Bernard

If its a little rip in a flat panel then some repair tape(either ripstop or Mylar) will fix it. You can get it from all good chandlers or kite store.

You can use the tape to cover abraided bits of kite if you want.

Anything over a few inches long & its worth getting it repaired properly. A good sail maker should have no problem fixing it if there are no kite stores near you that can sort it out.

Sounds like the addictions kicking in ;)

Hi Steve,

Yup, I think the addiction is setting in. I just have to wait and short while before I can justify to myself buying another Stacker.

I just wanted to be sure that I wasn't over looking anything that could make things worse in the future.

I don't think that they are serious. They are just small abrasions, not even through the material. Scrapes.

I'll have a look for the ripstop tape. Might be good to have it in the case of an emergency :p

thanks again for the help,

Hea tarlach,

I live in Dublin but my parents live in Waterford. I go to Tramore beach.

I haven't gone anywhere in Dublin yet. I live near Smithfield, so no real chance of getting to a beach.

Where are you?

cheers

Bernard
