I have just returned from a week in Norway where I assisted Windriders in a Snow Kite Course with Meloy Adventure.

Sadly the wind was pretty light all week, apparently this is unheard of in this area but it didn't not stop everyone having fun and learning a whole load too.

We had an epic week of adventure regardless of the winds, with plenty of sledding, hiking mountains to the glaciers and also hiking up the mountains with skins in the middle of the night under just the light of the moon...a truly awesome place!

If anyone wants more information on this area just give me a shout. We are considering running a trip there similar time next year but it's not just a snow kite trip, more of adventure. Treks across the glacier from log cabin to the next by dog sled & kite, hiking up the mountains to access virgin snow, trips around the islands in ribs etc etc

There is another course coming very soon.. https://www.facebook.com/events/774239066014877/

Here are some photos from the adventure.

Yeh cool, will do.

The trip to this area as mentioned above is really not just about the kite, it's very much more about just getting out there in the mountains.

I will be in constant contact during the year so will see if we can plan a "full emersion" trip for next year.

I'm really tempted to go back out in the summer too, there is obviously still snow on the glacier so you can hike up in your shorts and snow kite for as long as you like....as it never gets dark there in the summer 24/7 sun!!

The Meloy area in Northern Norway is well known for it's endless windy days but very unusually the winds were extremely light during the week we were there.

However this didn't deter us all having an amazing adventure with a great group of students too.

The scenery is simply stunning and with the knowledgeable guys running these trips you are guaranteed the time of your life, whether it's the snow kiting or hiking up the mountains with just the moon to light up your path!
