Looking at winter westsuits and narrowed it down to Xcel Axis or O'Neill Mutant. Both suits are 5/4mm....

The O'Neill just looks slightly better but reading all the reviews half the people can not get out the suits with out help...

Anyone use these ? any feedback ?

thanks

Hi Billy

I love my Mutant. toasty warm never flushes and has lasted a good year with no wear. I do look after my kit and alway fresh water flush after, but have to say its the best suit i've had.

In context though I'm a tight arse and don't buy that many :)

You know it's funny that's exactly what the missus is like with her suits and it really pays off. The dead skin and salt crystals inside the suit 'plug' up the lining and make it less effective at trapping water molecules over time, rinsing works.

That said, her being an Excel wearer reminds me of a Mac user or a VW driver. Always a bit smug lol.

Xcel Infiniti 5/3 does me all year round up here in the Hebs. Mind you a cheap ass £130 5/4 backzip Tiki suit had done me well enough for 10 years before that though I was not kiting. I think i am just getting to be more of a pussy about the cold in my old age :)
