Only problem you're likely to face with baggage is the almost mandatory theft from the thieving scum baggage handlers at Cape Town (or worse still, Jo'burg).

Just make sure you're fully insured and don't pack anything small and/ or of value in your hold luggage.

Hi Franz - I have done 23kgs before. Leave the kitebags behind - take just the kites. Err on smaller kite sizes. Cape Town in season is windy. I am 85 kgs (or I was - now I am 80 :-)) and 6m and 8m are my most used sizes there. Take only one warm top and otherwise a few Ts and boardies. With the harness, job done. Buy a pump out there to save on that weight. Rent a Group B car for the split fold rear seat. Check out Cape Town Kite Club | Cape Town Kite Club for accommodation. Pizza is good at Primi. Dolphin Beach hotel does a great sushi nite (Mondays I think). PM me if any more qs.
