The Saminator Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 yeah £600 is more than fair for a brand new kite, been out a few months. ive just ordered my 10m awesome kites Quote
Paul Westlake Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 Why is this still for sale? This is an awsome kite, and think the summer is only around the corner!!!! I was out on mine last weekend sub 10mph wind and I was beating a 9m Bora!!!!! Quote
fridazadilak Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 I was thinkin' that! Such a beast of a kite...would love one for the light winds but my 12m MII will have to suffice! Worth the moolah in my eyes! Quote
Butch1599968578 Posted March 8, 2009 Author Report Posted March 8, 2009 still here. Great summer light wind kite. Quote
spooky Posted March 8, 2009 Report Posted March 8, 2009 Have to put my imput in now Ok I like Ozone, but have to say this is a sweet kite Very nice low wind ability, and despite its size can be worked quite nicely as it has good turning rate. Like most Manta 2's it has a nice top end as well, I'v held this into the low 20's, ok I'm heavyish but it is more than manageable, as its quite a smooth flying kite. As not quite as grunty as the Frenzy, it does mean you can hold it powered as it does not try to drag you down wind, kite likes to sit at the edge more. Result= if flown powered and then sent skywards, so do you Ok Not as high as say a 10m in stronger winds, after all it is a big kite, but you will still get good height and what you lose in some height you gain in Float So nice also for those that wish to improve their tricks, as foot outs and board offs are easy as you have so much time up there. If not flown powered, makes a very nice cruising kite and even then if you have a large space so can take a long run in you can get some nice speeds/power anyway. Now take it to a slope and its sweet, gently roll down the slope, throw kite above you and away you go If its so good why do I not have one???? Well I have a Paraglider for low winds so not really needed But does go very well with a 10m for a nice wind and sweet spot range. I know some people only go as big as a 12, as feel that while the 15 would extend the wind range, that it would not get much use compared to the extra money, which is true it is almost a specilist kite. BUT for £600 have to say worth looking at, as thats cheaper than a new 8m!!! And it is in as new condition, so no worries there. IMHO anyone who is happy flying a 12m Manta would be fine on this. Go for it you will not be disserpointed Have fun, Jon Quote
