Katch Posted February 10, 2009 Report Posted February 10, 2009 I'm going to be out on the Med all summer this year and I have a feeling my old Cab Custom is going to self destruct after not so long - already had to epoxy 2 fins in after a disagreement with some rocks in the shallows. What's a good board to look at - I want something quite poppy with a bit of rocker but would like a little more upwind performance than the Custom. Quote
benbaron Posted February 10, 2009 Report Posted February 10, 2009 I can only speak for a Brunotti Onyx 08, I find it really nice to ride but Im still a newbie really so get other advice. If you fancy one, Tom @ kiteitright was doing them for £290 - cheap as.. Quote
yorkshireone Posted February 10, 2009 Report Posted February 10, 2009 My (almost) brand new TB Mana is for sale dude. http://www.tbkiteboarding.com/boutique/product_info.php?cPath=1&products_id=34&osCsid=0e334acecf228477ab12d35f2dbfdcfb Check it out. I'll do you a tasty deal with the harness. Take it easy. Quote
Katch Posted February 10, 2009 Author Report Posted February 10, 2009 Onyx is a bit to intermediate for my liking - Pro-x looks tasty though. Whats this Mana like? Quote
yorkshireone Posted February 10, 2009 Report Posted February 10, 2009 This is the official blurb. All I would add is that it is a super smooth, comfortable ride and weighs only 2.1KG. A top board in really good condition. 'Fantastic new boards from Tom Bordeaux. No messing around here - these boards come in only 2 sizes, 130 x 39 and 130 x 37. The Mana comes up on the plane very quickly and offers massive freestyle performance and a smooth ride. The board fills the 'new school' freestyle requirement, a bit wider for stomping those landings, while remaining super light. The boards feature woodcore technology, full snowboard style construction, and progressively shaped rails, super hard at the tips and soft through the middle of the board. With slighly more rocker than many boards, and a smaller side radius, the Mana keys in hard and can load up massive amounts of power. But fear not, the Mana isn't a 'pro only' model by any means. Its easy to ride and upwinds like a dream. The Mana has great flex, neither too hard or too soft, cuts straight through the chop and pops brilliantly. With beautiful graphics and the added bonus of the Quickstrap bindings, that cannot vibrate loose, can be adjusted and removed without tools and are super comfy and light, the Mana is unbelievable value.' Edit: I know that Sprogg used to ride the Mana, you could PM him for a second opinion Edit (2): Did you get my email regarding the Fuel? It was posted yesterday and is gauranteed by 1pm today. Let me know when it arrives Quote
