pierre Posted February 2, 2009 Report Posted February 2, 2009 The wipika Mauricio pro has one, but when I broke mine and mailed Wipika they told me they just had one left. I think that the smaller one have it too Quote
CKB Posted February 2, 2009 Report Posted February 2, 2009 The older AH Pro's had them.... http://customkiteboard.com/ImageRepair/AHProBase2Small.JPG and I now use Durasurf on mine as it protects the carbon base. Have a few metres left if anyone wants to try and retro fit some. Quote
Spyke Posted February 2, 2009 Report Posted February 2, 2009 What does it actually do? Will it protect the surface when on a rail/slider? Quote
CKB Posted February 2, 2009 Report Posted February 2, 2009 What does it actually do? Will it protect the surface when on a rail/slider? Yes, it has good abrasion and wear properties at the expense of a bit more weight. Nothing will protect base from massive impacts but it copes well with slides as it has low friction properties similar to PTFE. It has to be treated on one side so that it bonds with epoxy and its almost impossible to sand it down, (so its good for run ups onto the beach or shingle) The DuraSurf base below on the right has been misused for about 2 years and whilst it shows scratches, there is no penetration to the carbon beneath. http://customkiteboard.com/misc4/BaseAbove.jpg Quote
jordan_aryan Posted February 2, 2009 Report Posted February 2, 2009 the new LF concept grind has it....assuming thats the same stuff that your talking about. Quote
OceanRodeo Posted February 2, 2009 Report Posted February 2, 2009 Ocean Rodeo have a similar bottom on their boards and seem to withstand scratching well Quote

Neptune Posted February 4, 2009 Report Posted February 4, 2009 Litewave Vision is a really nice board and not heavy at all - I like the hooked rails a lot. Quote
session1 Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 Yeh, the 09 Liquid Force range has a board with a slider proof base. Like my man Jordan says above, it's called the Concept Grind and is designed to be super duper tough. http://www.session1.com/images/products/large/5019_grind.jpg Quote
