Mike R Posted December 2, 2008 Report Posted December 2, 2008 Watching the news last night there was a report of some mindless moron(s) dropping a 22lb lump of concreate from a bridge onto passing cars on the A12. The report featured an incident that had happened I believe over the weekend , When they showed the car that this concreate had hit and gone through the windscreen in the back of ther motor was what looked like a Buggy and some kites. Was this senseless act of attempted murder carried out on a kiter if so lets hope that he / she is OK (lets hope whoever it was is OK) What is the world coming to when Thugs can do this sort of thing Hopefully the Police will catch up with those ressponsible and do them for what amounts to attemted murder in my book . crut Posted December 2, 2008 Report Posted December 2, 2008 Simply the thought of someone dropping concrete from a bridge onto the road makes me feel really sick. Quote
Frakke1599968664 Posted December 2, 2008 Report Posted December 2, 2008 some pictures here... http://www.sgrcolchester.co.uk/PhotoWallPhoto.asp?wallid=47788&id=47788 not convinced it's a buggy but still it's a fekkin Huge piece of concrete... mindless indeed F Quote
Capt Slog Posted December 2, 2008 Report Posted December 2, 2008 If I saw anyone on the bridge when I was a biker it used to scare me, I'd change lanes if I could. We have a motorway bridge near us, and my boys like to stand on it and wave to the lorry drivers. We always told them to "wave with both hands" as this makes it clear to the drivers that they are not holding anything. Quote
jablonski1599968753 Posted December 2, 2008 Report Posted December 2, 2008 What goes on in peoples heads Quote
martin Posted December 2, 2008 Report Posted December 2, 2008 I always change lanes when i see a pedestrian standing still on a bridge. There should be a "No waiting" rule for pedestrians on bridges like on dual carriageways. Quote
suskia Posted December 2, 2008 Report Posted December 2, 2008 I always think the worst when seeing people stopped on the bridge and change lanes too if I can - in south africa they throw things at your car so you stop and then they hijack your car - very scary Quote
abbe89 Posted December 2, 2008 Report Posted December 2, 2008 our school was right next to the A14, and we were doing about traffic congestion and use of the road for our geography GCSE....and we had to stand on the bridge and count what traffic (lorry, car, motorbike etc) went past.....we had a load of people swearing at us and quickly changing lanes......we were actually doing work but they must have thought we were dropping things Quote

abbe89 Posted December 2, 2008 Report Posted December 2, 2008 we didnt have clipbaords, for that exact reason, just paper and a pencil Quote
Dodgy Posted December 2, 2008 Report Posted December 2, 2008 ...We always told them to "wave with both hands" as this makes it clear to the drivers that they are not holding anything. That's really sound advice. Sometimes you can't help the "flinch" effect when you see somebody raise their arm when they're on a bridge and you're zooming along below it. This has made me feel quite spooked bearing in mind the subject matter, then seeing your icon and then with the way my mind works - I find myself remembering Radio K.A.O.S. by Roger Waters (from about "87/"88) where a character drops a brick/stone off a bridge on to a car in one of the opening songs. Great album as I recall. Quote
