Im finding it hard to like the weapons too, just wish i had a silenced p90 or mp5 on there! Im not liking the ww2ness of the game either i'd rather it be modern warfare still. Quote

Morgan Posted October 18, 2008 Report Posted October 18, 2008 The only gripe I have with it which is pretty much the same for all games bar a few, is I find it hard to tell who is not on my team. Being partally sighted and coloured blind Its very difficult to tell who's an enemy and who isn't. I like Bad company because you have a Red or a Blue dot but in COD5 there isn't this option there is just I believe a different coloured name of which looks identical to the friendly name so i spend alot of my time finding people to kill. Its got a lot to live up to in cod4 though really, if this had come out a year ago instead of cod4 then we would have loved it i think. I prefer the modern setting of cod4 and the modern weapons but this will tide me over till cod6 next yr! Its a shame that infinity ward didn't support cod4 in the way that bungie support the halo 3 community (http://www.bungie.net) with more maps, bug fixes and booting of glitchers to make the game appeal more. If they had released a dlc pack of 15 new maps for cod4, i would buy that over cod5 i think. I think cod 5 does have some improvements over cod 4 though. Grenades have a real weight to them now, stopping the 5 or so random grenades at the start of each game You have to rank up to unlock the better guns, meaning the good players who prestige will not have access to the M16 (or equivalent) from lvl 1 and will have a disadvantage against the newer players. The Chopper has been replaced by dogs, i hated it on cod4 when the chopper could see you from miles away behind 2 walls. The airstrike was great but a bit too easy to get 3/4 certain kills, while the artillery isnt as good it'll get tweeked i think. Ive not been playing it to death like i did in the cod 4 beta but , its down to who your playing with i think. Played for a good 2 hours last week with one of my mates online and had a right laugh playing as the chinese due to the voice over sounding like the Mr shakey hand man from Banzai! Quote
Disco_Bison Posted October 18, 2008 Report Posted October 18, 2008 I'm not impressed so far, it's got the same things that really put me off the multiplayer from COD4. I get bored of being shot and not seeing who shot me and finding out they're hiding and near invisble, yes I know that's war, but I'm not playing the game for the realism. I get bored of spawning and then dying two seconds later especially as the spawn time can sometimes be upto 20 seconds. The dogs are just f**king stupid, they're hard to kill, it's hard to see where they're coming from and they're pointless. At least they're easier to kill than the chopper from COD4. The fact that you get better guns when you rank up means that the better players get better weapons quickly and as such the game becomes even more unbalanced, Battlefield 2 did this a bit, but the differences were negligible, whereas in this they're not - stupid and it'll put new players off after a while. It's essentially just a re-skin of COD4 that they want you to play £40 for, the Forgotten Hope 2 team managed to do it for free - this just seems like they're cashing in a bit and I don't like that - they're not EA, so why act like them. I'm not buying this, I really can't be bothered to struggle through the Veteran level again, breaking my controller into little pieces when I end up throwing at the TV and the multiplayer just doesn't do it for me. There's enough games coming out between now and Christmas that I wont miss this one. I'm having a load more fun on Saints Row 2 at the moment anyway and Battlefield Heroes comes out for the PC soon and that's going to be free Quote
djstrauss281 Posted October 19, 2008 Report Posted October 19, 2008 right after having another go again their is an upside once better perks and guns gets unlocked. now the biggest problem is the stupid cheaters with their rapid fire controllers. does my head in when someone takes me out with their uzi pistol lol. xbox should just warrant the guns so everyone knows about them and use them, as this is redicilous. also does anyone know how the hell on the tank map(dont know the name) how they get underneath the map. does my head in killing me from under the ground, is redicilous Quote
