well, what can i say about this board? After owning it for a little more than 9 months now i feel that i have had a good use of it before reviewing it. Firstly: The Deck The deck is of a fibreglass and maple composite build with a fair amount of flex and pop on it, however i am yet to bottom out on it which is good ( I do only weigh 9stone and my dad cant bottom out either ) The blue graphics with a large logo on the bottom stand out from the crowd with a very subtle yet defined deck shape, in comparison with a conventional skateboard shaped deck. Also the grab handle is a very nice feature which helps when transporting and with tricks. Secondly: Trucks and wheels On the whole, the trucks and wheels are very good and are featured on many high end boards such as Trampa boards. The hollowed out trucks create a lighter and stronger set of trucks suitable for hard use and abuse on most terrains. One problem that I have had is that one of the hubs have snapped slightly creating a bulge in the tire wall which i could see popping/breaking very soon and i must get replaced a.s.a.p ! The tread on the tyres has only now started to wear down after many months of hard use and i could see easily another year out of them before they need to be replaced due to lack of tread. Lastly:The Bindings The bindings are of a very high quality also and provide much more support than that of other bindings that i have tried recently. Although i do find them slipping off sometimes which is probably down to me having goofy shaped feet So to conclude I would say that the board is very good value for a beginner or progressing kiteboarder looking for a durable lightweight deck with quality components and refined pop and flex this is a very good board to buy with not many boards that can compete with it in the price range. The Scrub Vapour is the newly released board from Scrub. It is the new version of their Scrub Ejector which I believe had two versions. Incidentally it is my first purchase of a mountain board for kiting although I have used many of my friend's. This board is ideal for the beginner but also adjustable for the more advanced rider simply by the inflation of the tyres. The novice rider needs the tyres to be inflated to a level that you can still push the tyres in with a firm push of the fingers. The advanced rider will inflate the tyres to a very firm pressure. The difference is that the less inflated the tyre is, the more the board will absorb bumps. This is ideal when you start off as a shaking board is very off putting. The Vapour will hit some great speeds both cross wind and down wind. Combine your riding with the stunning aqua colour and design of the board means passers buy will soon turn into an audience who watch in awe of your riding and tricks. Note: try not to show off until you are confident or you may end up with a twisted ankle like me! The Vapour is also a great training tool for kite surfing as the skills are very similar ie balance, toe and heel riding, and jumping and turning. The Vapour comes flat packed and you need simply to attach the 4 wheels and the carry handle. Note: The board comes with a safety strap to attach you to the board in case you fall off so the board doesn't keep going. I strongly advise not to attach this as you often fall off and onto the board which hurts lot's more than falling on the sand or grass. Let the board go off a bit (it soon stops) and get up and get it. This is really important in my opinion. Another tip is to sell the strap on an auction site (you may get £10-15 for it!) The vapour will set you back around £170, or cheaper on an auction site (although this isn't recommended as the warranty is often not valid via these sellers) Take my advice and buy this new. So buy this board and never ever be bored! Only down side to Scrub is their internet site is rubbish with no info. By : pboswell
