  1. Sunday is looking doable at Mablethorpe Nick. How yer fixed? 15-17MPH off shore and low tide at 14:00hrs I am gonna be down there around the same time as last time.
  2. Yakusa's, Bruza's, Busters & Bolloks; it's all Greek to me Raptor II - Now there's a name synonymous with out and out speed, sex and Carl-Thrashing performance (Even Kyosho??? ) Oh, and Radsail Eolo Buggy :D SPEEEEEEEED EDIT - Who owns Pipistrelle Bat kites?
  3. They are awesome mate Bit difficult to get used to flying as you have to keep the brakes on a bit or the front end tips in but they look as cool as in the air! I have a 3.4 you can try one day. Where is Meggies??
  4. Yep, A blade III in gusty wind will be a force to be reckoned with Being East Coast dwellers and having predominatly westerly winds does mean we should all be used to gusts though In the early Mable days we would go out in whatever winds would be thrown at us and never once gave up because of it - only when on the odd day there was no wind at all!! I remember trying to get a 12m NPW9 (NASA powerwing) up on a no wind day - It wouldn't have it
  5. What are Z2's????????????????????????????????????????
  6. Because the window is smaller not because the kite is any quicker. It's a trim issue, I am sure and as I said, I will give them a 'trim' next time out.
  7. It dosen't increase the speed of the kite! all it does is make the available travel of the kite less thus it appears to fly faster because it hasn't as far to travel. It gets from one place to another in the sky 'seemingly' faster. The only things that will speed up the kite are more wind and/or kite trim. My old Raptors had more pull if you squeezed the brakes once the kite was set in place and these centurys are the same.
  8. Surely shortening lines would lessen the turn area in the sky? That was the main problem.
  9. How many jobs have you turned down/walked out of in the past? How many drags of whatever do you take a day? All adds up Dave. You COULD turn it around mate. It's worth it believe me.
  10. Thanks Dave but I can't help thinking that if you ditched your current lifestyle and got a job like everyone else you could have been there! Harsh but true.
  11. I will give it a try the next time I am out and report back Sir
  12. Just a few pics for you Tobias
  13. Got to be honest I ain't really got ow't to do to the buggy Nick, it seems pukka as it is now. I have however completely changed my captive and block roller system as the below pic will tell. The upper set up was the one I was using Sunday and I kept nipping me fingers between the block and kite handles. The new system is slightly longer than the old system but is just so much smaller other than that! I did have a good look at the adjustable bridle system on the Centurys last night while cleaning them and it seems it's a similar system to what the old PKD Busters had in that you can tailor speed/power and general scattyness against a more slower moving, more stable set up. I wish I had remembered about this on Sunday as I was really struggling with the slow speed of the 11m! The 9 was also slow but not as bad as the 11. The handles on them both are huge and did take a lot of managing. I could have made them faster as it seems they where both set one up from their stable setting. With me being used to scatty Raptor II's I could have benifited from punching them up a little. I do think your being a bit generous with your stated windspeed for the day Nick as I am pretty sure 15MPH would have had me severely hanging on to the 9m race and to be honest I wasn't anywhere near 'hanging on' to it. I think the 26.8MPH top speed was somewhat proof of that Got to admit though, that did feel bloody quick with not having done that sorta speed so low down for so long I can't wait for a good high wind day with good smooth hard sand and the use of the 2.5/3.5 kites. It will come soon, I know it EDIT - I have found a SH towbar for the car so I will be fitting that and using the trailer me thinks! Far less hassle. EDIT II - I got 23.5MPG out of the S6 on the way there and the same going home and I was tanking it home?????? work that one out!!
  14. Had an excellent day today at Mable. It started off with a SE 5MPH wind and the going was difficult. I went out with the 9M for a start but soon came in for the 11m. It still prooved very difficult to get going any but after about 2hrs the wind started to pick up to an estimated EES @ 10-12MPH. This was well doable on the 9m so I packed away the 11 and spent the rest of the day on the 9. Sand was soft in places with quite a number of streams across the main runs wich lent to a very wet day's buggying Topped out at 25.8MPH and did around 15 miles in total. Nick was lapping it up to the max. It was great to get out with an old kiteing fanatic like him. It was great to get back in the seat again after 4 years of being out!!

  16. What buggy wheels are you chaps running? Barrows of bigfoot's?
  17. What time are you looking to be here in the morn Nickolarse
  18. The 'Origonal' thread that Carl started was not specifically about Mablethorpe North beach! It was about Lincolnshire which being the largest county in the UK, could cover rather a lot of sites!
  19. I would like to be there around 09:30 - 10:00hrs - Low tide is around 14:00hrs so it should work out fine. It's an hour to get there from here. It does however look like it's going to be a large kite day as winds don't look too dangerous I have only once buggied with a +9m race kite and that was a race day on Ainsdale. It's hard to keep the bloody thing in the air and when you do ge a gust of wind they do tend to just pull you very sideways so again, it could be fun
  20. As Nick said, it could be funny. Iv'e gotta remember which end to hold the kite, get in me buggy etc etc I took out my 0.7m Buster the other day in them there strong winds we had and there where a few moments when it caught me unawares! I remember many a time of old when I was caught out unawares but I was much stronger and quicker then in my reactions; so as mentioned, it could be a hoot Nevertheless, I am really looking forward to Mables Grace again and getting back on her sandy bits!! Buggy and kites are raring to go and I.......... well Im just gonna plod with the flow. Them kites will take me where they must It's an 80 mile round trip for me so not as bad a treck as you guys have to endure - BUT - If it's windy, in a good direction, Tides out and it's as hard as a porn stars Pecker, then it's well worth it! PS - According to Metcheck just now, it's gonna be a direct onshore at 13:00hrs BUT only at 5MPH. I hope it's gets a bit fresher than that but still well worth a dabble
  21. Most definitely mate, no worries there at all
  22. Myself and Nick look to be at Mablethorpe this coming Sunday It will be my first time in a buggy for bloody years
  23. Myself and Nick, Coupe-SE will be there this coming Sunday. We will no doubt will aim to be there as early as poss. High Tide is around 14:00hrs. Jim
