I need a little help I have been teaching a 10 year old who has taken to this kitesufing like a duck to water. Not to surprising as he could fly a kite and wake board over jumps at a cable park. My Question is this . Taken that he uses a 125 wake board and that he will progress quickly What kite board is required and does any one have a cheep second hand one? Thanks

New to the water it’s bows all the way They are just easier and safer. Try and keep on 4 line kites to start with for simplicity but don’t rule out 5 liners if the deals right. Try and avoid kites with battens as you will be crashing and they will be snapping Kites I would look for Best Waroo ( If you can stand the hype) GK sonic or trix now that the leading edge is sorted. Ocean Rodeo Rise which is getting some good rider reviews. There is loads more but at the end of the day if you have a good local dealer go with what they have as it will be loads easier if you get any problems.

Avoid the 15 atom there are better kites for light wind. The flysurfer range comes to mind or a 14 Ocean rodeo rise which have a reputation for light wind performance.

I've tried both 3 and 4 and find 3 a lot better for toeside as you can twist your back foot without the padding digging in to your instep. Mind I have never been known as a style Icon may be this is why.

First shop around for you power boat first aid course. Try local sailing clubs I have know basic first aid courses costing from £15 (club) to £80 for the same thing. IKO BKSA The good news is that cross over courses are starting to appear so it isn't the end of the world which one you go on. It is a myth that you need BKSA qualifcation to teach in the UK its just that more options are open. If you are looking for working abroard then it has to be the IKO.
