  1. Do not go with Gold Car! Criminals!
  2. Taken from the windiest FB page. It is going to be a great event and well worth the trip to check out one of Britains best kite surf destinations. Scottish Windfest on Tour – The Sands of Luce Windfest Jam - May 10th & 11th 2014. The Windfest is on tour and we have chosen one of our all time favourite spots to start from! The Sands of Luce Holiday Park will be hosting our first ever Windfest Jam. Sands of Luce Holiday Park, Southwest Scotland, Galloway, Ownership, Rentals, Touring and Camping is a multi award winning holiday park perfectly positioned on the shores of Luce Bay. Here we can either hit the massive sandy beach that offers flat water lagoons plus bump and jump waves depending on tide states, or it can be our base from which to explore the area’s abundance of hidden beaches and sea lochs. For more information on the quality and variety of local locations check out their local beach guide Surf South West Scotland - The Number One guide for Kite and Windsurfers | Sands of Luce Holiday Park. The Windfest on Tour are gatherings of like-minded individuals coming together to share the stoke of our awesome sports. We want to take the ethos and vibe of the Windfest to other locations and showcase it to a wider audience. This is part of our vision to reorganise and grow the Windfest into something bigger and ensure that the 2015 event will be truly spectacular The gatherings will focus on the social-side of our sport, but we hope we can inject some friendly rivalry amongst and across disciplines to push ourselves to new levels. To help with this we will be offering some intermediate clinics to help people progress – all free of charge. Off-water we are still aiming to cater for all the family and the Galloway Activity Centre Welcome to Galloway Activity Centre will be there to provide activities. There will be some chilled out evening entertainment in on-site bar… who knows if the weather complies we might even break out the BBQs. For accommodation and travel details check out Sands of Luce Holiday Park, Southwest Scotland, Galloway, Ownership, Rentals, Touring and Camping who are doing some awesome deals for the weekend; There are 2 bedroom and 3 bedroom units available to rent sleeping a max of 6. A two night luxury holiday home rental for £165 and a three night stay is only £195! These are limited and will be on a first come first served basis. For the more adventurous there is pretty much unlimited space for camping whether by tent, van or tourer. The per night cost is only - no elec max of 2 sharing £10, no elec max of 4 adults sharing £15, elec max of 2 sharing £15 and elec max of 4 adults sharing £20. Who’s up for it?
  3. Ben Wilson 17'' 4 line Undertow kite bar with 22m lines. Used twice and in perfect condition. Great quality and ultra simple bar designed for 6-8m kites. £160 posted. e-mail for photos jack@nyro.co.uk
  4. Blade Scalper 135x42 kite board. Fantastic board for a beginner/ intermediate to progress on. Got me water started, heading upwind, jumping and going toe side. I still enjoy it as a light wind board. Great condition. It has a few scuffs and my phone number is written on it. £150 posted. e-mail for pics jack@nyro.co.uk
  5. Here is a photo of my mate Dave at our local secret lagoon which is detailed in this public guide Surf South West Scotland - The Number One guide for Kite and Windsurfers | Sands of Luce Holiday Park
  6. Hi, Im off to Fuerteventura on friday for a week. Any advice on the island? I have heard Flag beach has rocks at either end and Sotavento is off shore and can be gusty. Cheers, Jack
  7. Thanks for the praise guys! West is best!
  8. You can use Luce Bay from an easterly through to a South Westerly. True enough an Easterly is rare up here but it is not necessary for Luce Bay to work. For a westerly you can use any of the beaches on the west of the Rhinns such as Ardwel, Port Logan and Killantringan bay. You have Monreith Bay near Port William which I have kite surfed on but I wouldn't recommend it as it is quite tight. All these are mentioned in the guide. What isn't in the guide is a great bay I have found on the East of Loch Ryan. Once i try it out in appropriate conditions I will add it to the guide. It really is a great spot with a huge selection of beaches to suit all wind directions.
  9. Hello, I reside in perhaps one of the most spectacular kite surfing destinations in the UK. What's more it is still relatively undiscovered. South West Scotland would undoubtedly benefit from a bit of kite tourism so I have taken it upon my self to produce a guide for the area. The guide can be downloaded in PDF form here Surf South West Scotland - The Number One guide for Kite and Windsurfers | Sands of Luce Holiday Park. It has been a work in progress for me and a couple of others for the last few months. It is not complete and there are still plenty more beaches to add to it but it should give you an idea of what the area is all about. The guide also links through to our Facebook page should you have any questions. Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks, Jack
  10. I was out on my mates 7m this morning. Fantastic kites! You can comfortably hold so much power on them and they are so easy to jump. I would perhaps like a little more bar pressure but i guess you get used to it.
  11. Get your arse over to Luce Bay.
  12. Can some of you please practice some basic grammar and spelling.
  13. I don't think the point of the video was to try and encourage people to ride SUP's in 2-4mph of wind but to demonstrate the stability of the kite and to show the potential the kite may have.
  14. Was a bit cold for me this morning but i discovered a great trick. Instead of spending a fortune on these neoprene beach poncho jacket things buy your self a thick work mans coat (the luminous type). They keep the wind off you a treat and it doesn't matter if you crust them up with salt as they are only £10-£20 to replace. My wet suit has developed a hole in the crouch which is starting to become quite noticeable.
  15. Board returned to one happy owner. Result.
