  1. North Defender 50 £60 Can get this transported to Brighton as have friends down there or Southampton/Portsmouth I can even get it transported to Bournemouth saves postage for people. Kite Surfing board. Size 150 x 38 Older board but certainly not to be dismissed Rides really nice, in fact any water on it in the photo is from me using it just hours before this photo. Cuts nice though the water really helps you ride up wind as this board has 8 Finns, yes 8. You can remove ones you don't need. But ideal if getting in to the sport really helps you To get riding well from the start very light. So turns well jumps well. This is my spare board had it 5 years only selling as just getting in to freestyle so bought a board off a forum user so my current board will become my spare. This needs to go for space reasons more than any thing, can't keep them all. Condition is very good, Finns are perfect. Only small amount of damage from banging the leading edge today after all these years typical! On the floor in the car park so I will fill that with resin before it goes. See photo it's small but just showing you. Will miss it for sure but I have moved on to more tricks. Cheap as it gets really pads and finns are worth just as much as the selling price. Will help some one start out come and get it.. :-) Mark 07733444571 but please! no time wasters....... http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NDc4WDY0MA==/$T2eC16Z,!zcE9s4g3Kb4BRkqSb64(w~~48_80.JPG http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NjQwWDQ3OA==/$T2eC16FHJG!FFmu4mPHgBRkqSjOvN!~~48_80.JPG http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NDc4WDY0MA==/$T2eC16h,!zUE9s39!eniBRkqSpIS!!~~48_80.JPG
  2. I'm not complaining about it for one. I stated very early on it's more me than the kite. As always a forum thread as it goes on get lost from the orginal post. I have since been out and ditched the kite a number of times and relauched it. it is harder than my other kites yes. But as you have stated this kite is a step away from those granny kites you mention. I wish I hadn't posted it now. It was only to show peeps. I was not able to stand up and If people watch properly they will see at least 3 times I was so close to getting a relauch it was only because I was not able to stand to be able to get that last bit off the water. I am guessing water on the kite holding it down it just needed that bit more air to get me off the water..
  3. Wow this has been a bad week, Wish him well. 46! BTW way sounds like you where the pro on the day getting all that sorted in the heat of the moment, well done buddy.
  4. Well I can answer this, I put this to Flexifoil and they called back with an answer. The Hadlow ID bar and lines is the right bar and lines to have for the FORCE kite. As the all in one bar is being phased out. The throw is not shorter infact it's the same length. They advice people to pay the little bit extra and go for the ID bar and lines and I can see why the lines them selves have you seen them? WOW they are thick your not going to wear them out in a hurry. The PU Covered depower is very neat I do like it. Now the confusing part is the FF web site says have the all in one bar and lines?????? but 2 people who know the FF kit have told me now that the throw is the same on the ID and the all in one. May be the Pro bar is shorter but I can measure the travel if you like.
  5. yeap all stuff i tried.. I will try again next week, can't do anything now till well 10 days time so much on and and op to deal with.. I will update when i try again but as things stand it's a pain in the ass to relauch on the water. But I have had extream curcumstances so far.. eg too much wind and then too dam little :-(
  6. I will try again but when i say there was NO wind there really was NO wind. It just dropped, it did this last year in the evenings but this was only 5.40pm not late. Then the fog came in..
  7. went out again this afternoon.. ditched the kite to pratice.. wind died oh well best laid plans and all that.. will try again. I did how ever have a play on the land and wow it does float, when you jump.... a lad down the beach who is very good on a kite had a play and he was leaping huge jumps
  8. Got to say I have always worn a helmet, always. I learnt that a helmet is good when I tried land boarding. I got pulled round and banged my head on the ground real hard, Lucky I was wearing a cycle helmet. Not the right one but some thing rather than nothing. I was perfectly fine I was perfectly fine I was perfectly fine I also have a boyancy aid as well.. Sailing one. Acts like an impact vest £19.99 from Decathlon. But your right not many people do wear helmets I think by me out of 10 riders 1 will be wearing a helmet. I also make a point of making sure it's on even when I am putting the kite in the air. I've seen riders put a kite up and then put their helmet on.. I don't get that part most dangerous is when your walking with the kite and lauching it. The Helmet I use is the same as US Army use Pro tec B2 As luck would have it I was in Vans store in Portsmouth Gunwarf and they had them on clearance at £14.99 So I bought 2 one I dry one I can wear at that price you can't go wrong. I bought 2 before they noticed the price was wrong. But I think they do this every now and then on the basic model which is perfect for us. http://www.enemite.co.uk/en/img/large/protecb2blkban1.jpg I don't care if I look a knob as long as I have got it on.. So it really does sound like the guy was just really unlucky. Best wishes and speedy recovery for him.
  9. Just got off the phone to Flexi Peter has been great. The Halow ID bar is perfect for the Force. and the depower is just the same so if any one goes for a Force kite then go for a ID bar and lines. Even the lines are well you need to see one I have never seen lines so strong looking. The whole Hadlow ID bar is really nice, smooth running. Grip is amazing! so I am very pleased with all the whole thing.. He mentioned the company will go towards this type of bar and esp the lines as time goes on. Peter mentioned a few more tricks to try and he reconded I did what I could and was best to come on shore and start again. But with some pratice as it's not going to lauch from the water as easy as a delta kite. So I am going to take it out again and ditch it on purpose. I don't mind taking the time to do this it's important and does no harm other than learn more skills. But we both agreed the speed the power of this kite is just WOW!!!!!! got to say I was over taking people on Sunday I never overtake poeple I mainly follow but Sunday I was over taking them all with out trying Ref clubs yeah I do defend the self taught to a degree. You have to have lessons to start you off but you have to then go and self teach your self from there on. The area I fly we all talk and swap notes and it's very much a perfect area for people helping each other. It would be nice to have a club but I think some times clubs can dilute the free flow of advice and the general flow of we are all in the same boat.
  10. found it well if this is the one.. Dazler he and I have chatted on KB Yes I did what he did pulled on the red line and he was lucky I was not but I am being roasted for not getting it up in the air If you RELOOK at my video you will see me doing this.. and you will also see me nearly get it up 3 times before it fell down again. I was just unlucky to the point I just coasted it back to the shore and started again.. no biggie. Also I was not able to stand up like he was able to so prob why I was not able to get that last 10% on the kite to get it up in the air. RIGHT so no more you can't kite jabs and your not in a club it's all about the Kite One point I will make is, I bought a Hadlow bar and lines to go with this kite, As I thought that was the one for the " C " kite type kite. It turns out now that even on the Flexifoil web site they have added on a foot note to say, this kite is best flown with a All in one bar and lines so oh pants! have I got my self a bar and lines that has not got as much depower as the All in one bar and lines that the rider in the Video has got?
  11. if you could that would be grand thanks I am looking to take the Force out again and ask a mate to be on the shore ready and I am going to ditch the kite a few times and retry. I am sure once I have another go it will be fine I have always managed to do water relauch before with out any effort so there has been now an interest more on the fact I didn't manage to get it up in the air.. rather than me just showing my little mishap which we have all done at some time! I bet I get it up in air each and every time from now on. That day was bad and very gusty with a Southerly not normal winds by any stretch of the imagination. I have gained more from folks seeing my video's and telling me more and how, which really works to top up the skills. I know one rider who has been to our area who had lessons this is his 4year on the water and he was telling me he still can't jump. Still has problems getting up wind with one hand. But he rides nice and is very much cutting the lawn. up and down up and down.. prob like 100's of kitesurfers in the UK today.
  12. I am a member of BKSA I have done lessons yes. I videoed my second only NON water relauch and I think there is too much of a view point on this. I have water relaunched around about 15-20 times, a number for practice because thats the way i am. Hence I have even said I want to pratice water relauch with this new kite if people read and not speed read posts. Yes clubs are good, we don't have one here for one reason and another but I don't think that would have many any difference on the day. Just one of our group helped as it's more of a we all look out for each other and it works. Although I am newish to kitesurfing ( but not kites ) I bet I have been out more times than most of the people on this forum as I live with in walking distance to the sea and I have been going out 2-3 some time 4 times a week for a full 6 months in all sorts of conditions. Even different area's as well in the UK. I have been out 3 days running since Friday and I am going again later today. I have done deep water pack downs, it's important esp where we kitesurf because of the current. But I do tend to stick to the coast line area I am no hero and it's for enjoyment not risk. I can always come back another day, is the way I look at it.
  13. It does sound quite a bad accident. Any one know or see what happened? is he new to kites? We have all done it where we have tried to recover the kite before we even think to release our safety. There's always going to be some one who will say you should know but in the heat of the moment. I think we all will try to save a kite as a kite out of control in the public areas is even worse. But some one said he hit a sign first and then a building. Best wishes to him, afterall all he wanted to do is some sport. I have no idea of the area down there but I understand it gets very busy down there but I don't think he was in the normal place where others are. I am sure more will unfold as it comes out what happened.
  14. thanks I will try that.. so to be dumb clear ( as in on my part ) when you say the two back lines are you talking about the brake lines ( depower lines ) as in like what I would use to bring a foil kite in the air. Or are you talking about the two outer lines ( turning ) I am thinking you think depower lines. at one point I was doing that and again nothing With out doubt I will ask a mate on the shore to get ready and I am going to ditch the kite again and go for more relauching. I have never had this issue before on my old kites ( well once but that was VERY early on in kitesurfing and it was arrrrrr again a Southerly wind ) and I was not used to kiteing up wind and I got caught near the shore and the kite back stalled. May be it was just because it was a southerly..made things difficult but trust me I tried every thing I knew in my head of knowledge and that is 7 years of traction kites and 6 months of kitesurfing. It wouldn't get it's ass off the water. 3 times I nearly made it. but no..
  15. My waroo would have been airborne in a heart beat. I just couldn't get this one to do it. I might water land it and try a few times in lighter winds in the next few weeks to try again.
  16. Then swig of coke and back out again.. and I straight away did another jump/hop. landed that better.. so for me I hope to get out again in smoother winds and then I can really play with this boost for the jumps and when I am up higher I can take the time to redirect the kite and land the thing One step at a time. trust me my learning curve for this has been steep over the last few months. I still amaze my self I have got this far.
  17. New kite kite crash - YouTube ok ok here's my little crash, Lucky Dom was there to save the day and pick the kite up and there was no damage, just shows you how tough these Flexifoils are. But its my skill as a kiter not the kite that lead to the hmmm, lets call it " The Incident " LOL When i crashed I was ready to fly off again, even taking me by supprise my feet, the board we where all ready to go and I started to ride it out but it snatched abit and it was that snatch that threw me forward then it was time to let go of every thing by the time i surfaced the kite was not in the air but on the water.. I just couldn't get it up in the air I tried as you can see but just became a passenger back to the beach oh well, dust my self off and back out again.
  18. Double post ops
  19. you have made a valid point. I have purchased the Force from shop reviews and also one I could afford new. So I may have made a newbie mistake at this stage. One shop almost made out the Force is suitable for newbie riders which it clearly is not. But poss geared towards their own sales rather than suitable selection for the customer. What sort of kite would you say a hybrid/bow kite is out there. I know of Kahoona at least. v3 onwards
  20. Thanks, I think I need to commit to the kite more. As in riding it and controlling it. As it is a more agressive kite to ride. Its certainly not a kite for beginners in anyway. Its like saying a Hadlow Pro is a good kite for beginners its simply not true. It is for intermediates and beyound. I see my self very much at the bottom run of the intermediate ladder. So this kite is either going to put me off or cure and progress me as a rider way more than I have learnt before. Very much a kite to step you up the progression ladder. I am going to go out again on it during the week and I hope to get calmer winds to test it more.
  21. I got my kite 3 weeks ago 11m and I used it for the first time yesterday WOW what a difference between my current Set up A quiver of 3 Best Waroo's I am a newbie to kitesurfing so I can only say from a totaly amature view point. My Waroo's are docile and I can get away with loads on them. The kite just sits there, turns quick I like fast turning kites ( prob because I came from traction kite world on buggies ) I ride up and down and with a few jumps. So I went for the FF Force. My view so far and it's only been on one ride out. Also in a Southerly wind which was not nice and quite gusty at times on a 11m. Ok made to be like the " C " kites of old with depower, the depower is alot less than I am used to coming from a Best kite. At first this is not an issue until you need it. The kite is agressive and will suit alot of people, I like to ride agressive and with a powered up kite so this is to be expected. The bar pressure on your arms is nice, Firm but not so strong that your worn out in 30mins. So the ride is nice. The power the kite produces is really good, the speed at which you can push the kite along is nice. How ever like a C kite to slow down on my best kites I would just simply return the kite to 11, 12 or 1 and the speed is gone. With this you do that and your feeling like the kite is going to lift you. So I learned to ride it like an old C kite and bring the kite down to 3 and turn the kite into the wind more and this killed the speed. So horses for coarses in my view. New kite, new ways to ride it. As for turning it didn't turn as quick as my old Waroo's but it didn't cause me too much issues. Once I have learnt how to ride it better. Lift on a jumps is better with out doubt. This has to be mastered for me anyway and on one of my 3 jumps I did crash. I pulled the bar in and at the moment I just land inthe water and then carry on I am new to jumps so therefore I have yet to learn to land and carry on. I do sit back down in the water to make sure all is well with the kite and then carry on.. So one step at a time. But I had an incident where the kite started to fall out the sky and then powered back up again halfway down taking me totaly by supprise. Now this is like the old C kites but I feel this could just have been at the time rather than it's the kites fault. But I would like to say my Best kite wouldn't have done that. On powering up I crashed and then we where into a water lauch, which just didn't happen. I couldn't get the kite up off the water for love nor money. Again this could have just been me rather than the kite but I checked it over and restarted again.. Nice kite, but a kite at a totaly different level to what I am used to So the question.. Do I stay where I am on Best kites and enjoy what I am doing and well, stay standing still. Or progress to a F/Foil and learn over again. This would be an uphill learning curve for a while but will progress me as a rider in the long term.. build quality on the Flexifoil.. is second to none. Amazing Pumping it up and deflating it is different to other kites but you get used to it and it's not an issue trust me. In a way it's quite a clever idea and works. bascily you pump up in the deflate valve for 95% of the air, yes some air comes out when you cap it and then top it up in the inflate valve to the right pressure. And I am going to use the word " TOP UP " as this really is what Flexi need to write on the kite where the valve is. " TOP UP " as some people have been pumping up the kite on the inflate only and well..........that's going to be simply hard work!! That's my mini review as a new kitesurfer. Still pleased but do I stand still with my best kites or progress and take a bashing on the water to learn and progress.. I'm over 40 this is not good for me
  22. I just used mine yesterday and I was on the new FF Force. The depower was quite alot less then I have been used to in the past. Is this the kite or the bar do you think? The bar is the Flexifoil Hadlow bar. Other than that I love the grip on the bar, the whole set up is nice. but I just noticed the lenght of depower v power was quite small. Am I mixing the wrong bar and lines with the kite?
  23. had the kite 3 weeks and the weather has been so pants I have not had it up in the air !!! any one else??? it's looking like the whole dam country is in the same boat people have them but no one has flown them yet!!! my 30 day trial is coming up and I really wanted to try the dam thing first I am sure it's going to be a great kite but it would have been nice to know the option is there if I really hate it.
  24. I've got a lot to learn following that... I would love to learn that pop out the water and spin round and drop down.. Can I ask you guys who do all this jumping about.. what do you do with the postion of the kite? just leave it where it is? or what?
  25. I got one in the van, it came from a place in leeds that sells them on ebay.. works till some camper van place that did some repair to my roof wrecked it! bought another one and as yet to try it but it's ment to be better than the one I had.. who knows. tis what the guy said who sold me the unit said.. if issues get this better one..
