Ive got a Olympus utough 8000 and its brilliant. it is soooo simple to set up and use. havent really tried it to extremes i.e the deepest its been is to the bottom of a bucket but it is very good am well pleased with it. I did also try and take some photos of the F1 while not being bad considering the cars were doing near 200 MPH it did an admiral job at catching the action. The video playback is not to bad so long as you do not zoom during the video basically set the zoom level you want before you start videoing which will use the optical zoom but once the video is recording you can only use digital zoom. Would definatly highly recommend it. there is a video review of the 6000 on the gadget show website where they really did push them. )

The year below me got chucked out of school the day before they were meant to leave cause they wrecked the place. When I left year 11 we didnt do anything really there were a couple of water balloons thrown at the BBQ but nothing much more than that.

Anything that i would guess 3 season at the moment. I have a huge 4 season for when i go to Nepal in the summer and that saw me through the training weekend down to minus 3 and toasty inside, depends how much you want to pay it maybe an idea to get 2 sleeping bags both fairly light and just double them up when its cold and when its not so bad just use one of them

Thanks for the advice guys. My dad now seems to have gone off on a bender and says no because of the compatability with our exisiting Microsoft network at home. So the new question is how compatible is a Mac with and exisiting home windows network. Or if not directly out of the box how easily it is solved. Thanks

thanks Craig It was the standard 13.3" version I am looking at. The school is quite varied as the Imedia corse has just got its hands on 22 of the Imac desktops and there are rumours from the other group that there are 2 macbooks somewhere else in the school. We also use windows occasionally but the guy in the apple store said that they run windows in boot camp so that wouldnt be to much of a problem.

I did visit the MK store and tey said that I need some card of some description and a proff of ID to get the discount but I have never been given a card to get a student discount so I may have to enquire at school about it. Also they said it is only 7/8% discount which is still more expensive than Dixons have at full price. I must admit one point that my dad was inpressed was the apple care. Is teh applecare cost your own damage say something happened like it go knocked around at school. Im not sure where my dad is coming from seen as the Acer I am using at the moment has survived virtually unscathed for the last 3 years at school and those were the days of running around with it in my backpack and using the bag as a goal post.

Hi Guys, Sorry to bring this up once more as I know there is a Mac Vs PC thread on the trot at the moment however this one is a little diffrent. I am a student at a Sixth form. I am thinking of getting a Macbook for my schooling as I do an Imedia course which is where obviously Apple made its name. Basically I need some reasons to make my dad let me get one as he thinks that it will get damaged and it is not worth the extra X amount of pounds. It is the 2.0 GHz version in aluminium I am looking at. Thanks Stu

Its beacause they are clean that they make the noise. Its the same with car disc brakes they make a screech when you put them on sometimes. It really isnt anything to worry about. My discs are really loud at the moment but they do settle down once the bike gets a good run Stu

I had a similar occurance on the same day, There were some people trying to make snow balls when they had an entire feild tehy decided that instead of walking around where io was flying my kite or going else where walked right under neath it so i made a low swoop while they where on there back but beyond the length of my lines and never saw them again walking dead infront of me

Well he did run after it once he relised he had hold of it, He didnt tell me to put it back up i suppose but once we had the kite free the dog managed to get out of his grip.

Right yet again we seem to have ended up with a thread about dogs this time not what they deposit. I was flying down at the local field in the snow. With the amount of snow we've had theres plenty of people with dogs down there which to be honest I dont mind greatly. I normally have the trouble that the dogs will chase the kite in the air and run back and forth as the kite moves then when it gets near the floor they scatter as tehy relise the size. I was flying with the norm (Dogs chasing it in the air) When I decided i fancied a break so bought the kite down to low level to give the dogs a chance to move but one of them started jumping for it. As it hit the floor the dog bit it and trampled the thing and started taking it back to the owner of the dog. The owner told the dog to put it down which it didnt do so he starts ripping the thing out of the dogs mouth. He got the kite out and being at the other end of the lines he said just put it back up before she gets lose again. So I pull and it relaunches and teh whole thing starts again until adventuly my arms can take it no longer and I just have to land it. The dog yet again jumps on it so whilst the owner tried to get it off I undid the lines and bunged it in my bag. Moan over but why cant some people just take in to consideration that we can get tired and just hold the dog while I get sorted.

Ive got a Pinnicle Peak from Evans Cycles was a very good investment. There are a few diffrent levels of model I Think I got the middle range at £500 Hydrolic disks, Rock Shocks dart3 I think Ive heard bad things about the shocks but mine have been fine if a little tempremental they are very stiff in the low tempratures like we are having at the moment I assume the oil being thick. Also Evans do a free service on it about 6 weeks after yuo buy it to give it the once over.

Thanks thats what im hoping for. I tried typing it into google and the newspapers have been at it saying that it will happen. I dont mind the test being harder just so long as I dont get the endless stick from class mates saying that im to young to drive.

Hi Guys This is a bit of a random question but one that someone asked me at school today. Does anyone know when the driving age is set to increase as few people in my year are just starting but one of them said that it might be changing so when it gets to my birthday the law will have changed.
