waZki Posted February 16, 2012 Report Posted February 16, 2012 what is like in chop, I'm looking for a new board but I've never seen those Quote
connor44 Posted February 16, 2012 Author Report Posted February 16, 2012 i thought it was dead on.i have an old skywalker board which i keep just for those lightwind days with the zephyr.the skywalker is really stiff in comparison to the deuce.a lot more flex and a lot more pop.i read on an online kite magazine called "iksurfmag" where the deuce was voted or to be voted amongst 9 other twintips as the best of 2011.here is the link and the review is on page 155 IKSURFMAG | Issue 31 | Free Kitesurfing Magazine Online i think there was also a review of the board on a previous issue of iksurfmag.not sure if it is issue 30 so you would need to have a look.like i say i ride a surfboard so have no need for the twintip.dont know if that is any help or not Quote
unruly1986 Posted February 16, 2012 Report Posted February 16, 2012 I like the look of this, but fear it will be too small for me as a starter/intermediate board. That's if it's still available! Quote
connor44 Posted February 18, 2012 Author Report Posted February 18, 2012 (edited) hi unruly if you are starting off you are better with a bigger board.140cm + with a wide stance.but once you get up and riding you will want something smaller for those jumps/tricks as you progress.basically if my board sells it sells,if it doesnt it doesnt.but if you dont know what you are buying then dont buy.i have been sold crap on this forum and elsewhere before so dont want someone buying something they couldnt afford to in the first place which hasnt been described as advertised. yeah it is small at 131cm length and 41cms wide but is the same size as my skywalker which is 135cm in length and 42cm in width which was the board i learned on which has a pretty skatey feeling.put together in size they look the same.i can photo graph if you like to show.looks no different there is a lot of spin regarding board brands /dealers and so on.every year a board from the previous year has been upgraded along with kite design saying they have tweaked this and tweaked that and graphics are changed.depends if you believe the hype .anyway its personal preference i find regarding kites and boards.i ride in mostly choppy conditions with a twintip when im on it .flatwater for this board is a dream.the foot padding is excellent.so smooth and soft.its a great board and i gave it a go during the week just to see how it goes and like i say may have second doubts for selling.reason for selling is i just dont use it that much but wont go to waste and wanted to get a few quid together for a kite trip coming up( i keep the skywalker only because it is lighter for lighter winds on the zephyr and gets me out on super lights winds for cruising but thats it) it depends how good a kite surfer you are. you might spend 6000 quid on a new board but it isnt going to make you into a captain amazing,if you just starting you are going to be crap at the start regardless of brand or board size although a bigger board is easier to learn.check out some of your mates or local dealers but im sure they will just be bias in regards of selling a product depending on how honest they are. a sale is a sale as far as they are concerned but thats just my experience dont buy before you try or unless you are absolutely sure cheers connor Edited February 18, 2012 by connor44 Quote
