flydad
Was thinking of having a birthday party on the beach on the Sunday, but putting a bouncy castle in the middle of the race course makes the risk assessment a nightmare ! I don't see why it should, just as long as it isn't coloured orange or red/white :D after all it'll give you something to do for the rest of the day or do you think you've finally got rid of the jinx that seemed to follow you earlier in the year

AndySmith
Why do members of other FED clubs have to pay over 30% more than PKA and ainsdale members? Any info available of times of registration? - Race start time etc. Cheers Andrew

flexibra
Andy Not sure on your first question but; Registration from 9 am Sunday for Last Gasp Race (subject to conditions) due to start at 11AM. Hope that helps Rich Why do members of other FED clubs have to pay over 30% more than PKA and ainsdale members? flexibra
Hi Kenny The PKA requested permission to hold the annual Last Gasp At AoS back in August. The PKA is a race oriantated organisation but after receiving requests it was asked if Freestyling could be allowed on Saturday. Unfortunately the answer was no, but we tried. Rich So for what reason have they banned freestyle in favour of racing??? Ha s anyone tryed to fight it??
big-jon
Freestyling may be allowed in the future on the ebach, we are in discussion with the Council and it does look promising, for this event it was not possible - sorry. If the club can they will !
flydad
Andy Not sure on your first question but; Registration from 9 am Sunday for Last Gasp Race (subject to conditions) due to start at 11AM. Hope that helps Rich I think Andy was refering to the extra charge for non PKA members. (maybe there's a BIG prize fund for PKA members ) Is there anything happening on the Saturday then? (apart from licencing for non licenced entrants). Is there the facility to use the beach on the Saturday for general buggying for non locals? or are we only allowed on the Sunday as entrants? I ask, because if its a no go on the Saturday then its pointless coming down before the Sunday morning (and I'd save two overnight digs expenses which would help towards the entry fees:eek: ). flexibra
Tom From my limited knowledge the Last Gasp is traditionally a PKA members only event (GaRRy may correct me) but I think that it should be open to others. It seems reasonable to me that non members have to pay a little extra towards the event to enter. Saturday will be free practice day and demo day, I know that a few are going to set out a course for a bit of loose racing. Hope to see the Hardy Scot's on the beach both days:) Rich I think Andy was refering to the extra charge for non PKA members. big-jon
As the event is insured under the PKSF, over the two days, I would imagine anyone who has PKSF insurance would be able to use the beach, any Fed members who want to use the beach are more than welcome as visitors to the Kitebeach club. So come down try out the demo stuff and have fun

AndySmith
Quite a straight forward enough question I thought - why when we are all licenced parakarters and all members of the same Federation and sport should members of organisations /clubs other than Ainsdale and the PKA have to pay 30% (£5) more. what extra costs are involved for the organisers for say members of the WSYC? Also whats the issue of £20 for a one day event when the rest of the events this year have been £10 are you laying on lunch? steveP
I must say it is a bit steep for one days racing. SteveP. X-Zone Games. Three days of fun and entertainment for only a tenner.

Gray Cloud
I’m inclined to agree that the entry fee of £20 is way to steep for one days racing of such low calibre, after all the event is just a fun event traditionally? I for one don’t intend to stay out for the whole 4 hrs if it is freezing cold. Is it for the cash prize fund to attract the top pilots? If so what will the prizes be? I think about £200 in cash for the winner would just about make me think about coming? Perhaps you should put the entry fee up some more maybe say £50 that way the cash prize fund could go up even more!! It’s an interesting point what do pilots think they should pay for the Super Cup next year. Bearing in mind that it made a substantial loss this year (although we do have some fixed assets now). Any profits made are turned into making the series more professional and give the pilots a better event. If you run it on a shoestring then you will get shoestring service. I’m interested though in what pilots think is fair and would be happy to pay for a National event? 2 days of racing. Gray
big-jon
Just a suggestion - how about a fee for the whole year? I don't want to suggest an amount as I already recieve enough flaming on the forums
