LANDIRE
I might be possibly get 1 soon so I was wondering if u can answer a few questions for me? Because it folds is it still strong? Would it soot a beginer? Iv heard there not very good for speed is this true and if so does this mean its realy slow and only good for freestyling etc? and just any general opions and anything that might help is much apriciated. I just want it to learn to buugy on and to trot up and down the beach on realy Im not planning on setting any speed records or anything. Cheer for looking Adam:D
MadAndy71
firstly, can I ask why go for a folding? A folded buggy doesn't take much less room than a fully dismantled PLC is why I ask.
LANDIRE
I thought Id go for the foldin because. because I thought it would take up less room. But is it easy to dissmantle and put bac together a pl competion and wat tools do u need?? Cheers, Adam
king_of_the_sky
all u need is 2 spanners not sure of the sizes u need tho
MadAndy71
Small spanners or socket set is all you need. This will remove the down tube from the clasp. both rear wheels if needed and the front wheel from forks. The side rails of a PLC pull out as they are...wait for it..push fit.lol!! To be honest, if going down the plc route, in terms of strength, for for the plc XR, then 2002, then 2001 then folding.
MadAndy71
forgot to say..spanners come with the plc buggies so if getting seconds hand, check they still have the tools..mind you, would only cost a few squids from a DIY store.
LANDIRE
The mane reason is because I may have a chance of doin a swap with my kheo flyer ATb and It seems like a pretty good deal. I understand that its not goin to be as strong as others but its not goin to snap on me or anything is it:confused: and does any1 know if they are realy as slow as Iv heard. Cheers, Adam

Cheers, Adam They are as fast as the next buggy but not as stable, not as smooth not as safe not as good upwind. If you know what the plc folding is worth, swap it if you want this person to have the board, then sell the folding to upgrade your buggy. Or sell the board and get another buggy. With the foldins, they will need to be strapped to keep them erected. I knw someone that flew a folding on smooth beaches for 3 years..niot a fault with the buggy. sold it to to mate who hammered it in a bumpy park and it lasted 4 months. LANDIRE
I know that the buggy is deffinatly worth more than the buggy. But there might also be some1 wanting to do a swap for a competion. but I don't think I can be doingwith taking it apart everytime I want to take it down the beach, aparantly u can get the folding 1 up in 15 seconds Ill also be using it on a smooth beach so that shouldn't be a problem. glenn pedro
hey adam i own a folder. mind you its one of five buggies i own. i only use it a few times a year when i travel by plane. i can get the whole buggy plus a few kites and other stuff in one luggage case. i weigh 175lbs and never had a problem with it. i do bend the back axle bolts from time to time but thats from jumping dunes and stuff. i can get it up to 40mph on the lake beds in the north west usa. king_of_the_sky
you may be able to put it togther in 15 seconds but itll break alot quicker, the pl comp if your going for it can be ready to go from full unassembled in about 3 mins

MadAndy71
If you have a choice and will only have 1 buggy..personally, I would wait and get a comp..the few extra ££ will pay off.

Ladybug
We are trying to decide what buggy to get ..... only having an escort we thought a folding..... but I don't think I'd go with the folding a)my mate has one, and its broken at least twice .... you couldn't jump in it ...... downhilling and wheelying broke parts off it. b) It seems shorter than others I've tried. Having long legs is sometimes a problem
sambuca
I know someone who broke a folding yesterday ((((PMSL))). The less said about that the better me thinks ((((Double PMSL)))).
Jonny3.3blade
I owned a folding for 2yrs and its still in one piece now:D probally not the best buggy to buy but there ok and good fun but not that stable I would probally go for a Pl comp or even a flexi as people have said all u need is a socket set also the foldings arent all that strong they bend and there weak on the wheel attachments + bend bolts. buggyboy1597507287
Although I only own a PL Comp and havn't tried a folding I would def. say go for the PL Comp. If you just need to get it into a car then you un-clip the two clips holding the axle on and I manage to get it into my mk 1 punto like that. If you do need to carry it somwhere get a bag and take the axle off, un do the centre bolt and it will just fall apart (not to say it would do this whilst buggying). Also if you find yourself getting a bit adventurous and pulling a few tricks you know it will not fold up on you!
