Tiger37
Age has caught up with me and so I am sadly selling off my final bits and pieces. This would make a great package for anybody new to the sport or who just wants an excellent set up. For sale I have the following, plus a selection of odds and end spares: 1. Peter Lynn "F Lynn" experimental buggy. This has a composite axle and rubber front wheel suspension. Better geometry than the standard Lynn Buggy and with a Flexifoil Scout seat fitted. 2. Two Born Kite Longstar 2 kites in perfect condition. Still very crispy! Sizes 3.5m and 7.5m. 3. Born Kites control bar with 25m lines. 4. Peter Lynn harness (size small) 5. Helmet. Selling as a package for $800 now reduced to $500!!! Items are located in Canberra. kage for $800 BobM
RobM
Hey I am interested even though I may be a bit too old myself. I have a few questions: Can you confirm that the kites are 4 string kites. I don't find bars particularly responsive and prefer to use handles. Therefore I also have no use for the harness. I have an unusually large head, 62cm. Its likely that the helmet will not be of use. You mention that there are other bits and pieces. I am curious. I have been out of paid employment since April 2020 so I am anxious about the expenditure. I have lived in Stockton for the last 4 and a half years (probably the best place in Australia for Kite buggying) and have not got my own buggy out because I had sold my quiver of kites and I have not made the time for myself (been a hell of a time looking after the family) to replace the quiver, assemble the buggy. I would welcome your best price and if you could organise postage. Tiger37
Hi Rob, The kites are 4 line kites but they are not fixed bridle kites, they are de-power kites and therefore require a harness and bar to fly them. My head size is 58 but the insides of the helmet are adjusted with different foam inserts. I will dig it out and take some photos for you. The bits and pieces I mention are things like a ground spike with velcro case to fix to the buggy, gloves and some spares etc. I am happy to try to organise postage or freight but it would be at your expense. I am negotiable on price to a certain extent but you may not be interested as the kites cannot be flown on handles. Let me know what you think. RobM
Yeah, I like the responsiveness of flying with handles. All the best and thanks for the response.
KiteGaz
How heavy is the buggy and how easy is it to transport? thanks in advance
Tiger37
The weight is about 15kg. Its easily lifted by one person. By just removing one of the rear wheels, I could easily get the buggy into the back of my Subaru Impreza with the rear seats folded down. Eluder
Such a great package at a good price. I haven't heard of the Long Star kite brand before, How does it perform? Also would you happen to know if the composite Axel fits flexifoil buggy
BobM
Geez Trevor, We will be sorry to see you leave this great past-time. I have enjoyed our (very) occasional meetups both here in Canberra and at the coast (and Kingston). All the best for the future, and who knows, when I retire myself in a few year's time I might bump into you somewhere in Canberra Cheers BobM

Really great kites. See the video John H made a few years back when we trialed them at Kingston. Very responsive and very light. I’m not sure if the composite axle will fit a Flexifoil buggy. Mr. jones
That'd be great, thank you. As long as the freight/postage cost aren't too bad i'll definitely take it. Cheers Tony Bakes.
Tiger37
Tony, give me time to get some quotes. Kites etc are all light weight and easy to use Australia Post. The buggy will be the main issue. Anybody on EK have experience of freighting a buggy within Australia? Mr. jones
KaoS
We use transdirect.com.au for all our interstate parcels. They are a broker, so they get quotes from multiple companies and you get to choose which one suits your needs. I have also used them for bulky items (motorcycle engine, wide format printer, and such). Always had satisfactory results - good luck Mr. jones, Tiger37 and Chook

Tiger37
Thanks @KaoS for the advice on transact couriers. I’ve now purchased a box intended to move a golf bag from Kings Storage and have stripped this unique and rare buggy to prepare it for transit!
