Revolution Supersonic w/ lines and handles - SOLD

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I realise my post count is non-existent, but I recently signed up again after many years of being away from the forum. @.Joel and @nigel will certainly remember me from years of being part of the Moran Reserve crew in Elwood/St Kilda.

This is a Revolution Supersonic that comes with lines and handles. The kite is in excellent condition, looks rarely flown, and the mylar is still very flat and crispy. The handles are the original Shockwave handles which have a longer throw than the standard ones. This kite was part of a batch of gear that was passed onto me from an interstate flier who no longer has time to fly. I have personally never flown the kite. Yes I'm aware that, in the photos, the vertical spars have been fitted on the wrong side of the kite. ;) The original red sleeve, with mesh pockets, is included.

The kite will be sent in a 105cm postal tube which costs $10, but I'll split that cost with the buyer. AusPost charges within Australia will be $15. The total asking price, posted within Australia, is $225 + $5 + $15 = $245. Money will be going to a local charity.

I am certainly no Rev expert, but I followed the advice here - (https://www.revkites.net/forum/topic/5416-supersonic-strut-placement/ -- and this is what I came up with. It seems a bit unnatural to twist the LE-side fittings around the back, but apparently it's intentional to give the sail some billow. I also discovered in the bag there is a spare centre LE rod (with both ferrules), and a spare vertical rod.

I held the assembled kite up to a bright window to show some areas of wear where the sail has been folded. There are some tiny bright spots which suggests light coming through, but most don't look like clean-through holes to me, more like areas where the coating is worn or the weave is disrupted. There is also a small nick in the trailing edge fold of the kite, near the point where the two halves meet at a point. Please check out the photos closely to see what I'm talking about.

I found that the handles and lines won't fit in the postal tube, so they'll be sent separately but I wont increase the price. Actually, let's make it $220 posted if anyone is interested. These kites are $299USD on the Rev website, which is about $420AUD at the moment, and that wouldn't include USPS postage which is expensive as hell these days.

Thanks very much @AdrianB .  I’ve only ever flown these style of kites at Kingston when other EK members have got them out in the evenings or when winds were low. I’ve recently sold a number of my depower kites and my Sysmic buggy but still have a strong interest in flying kites! I’ve kept my PL buggy and 2 Born kite Longstar 2s, so I might still get some buggying done!

Hence my interest in your kite for sale. Looks good. I am interested so will do a bit of research and get back to you with a PM.  Any advice from @nigel and @igeighty would be appreciated :)

@Tiger37do not delay. Buy this. :)

that’s my advice. (Or I will)

maye, this will be great for stowing in the car and having a sunset fly. You will take to it instantly, having progressed already with 4 lines.

And to @AdrianB, welcome to the forum mate :) hope you have a good stay.
