Hi Guys, I'm looking at the tides for Labour Day 2015, and they're not flash! Alternatively, push it forward to run over Easter instead perhaps for an extended stay? It'll collide with Yeppoon and the Adelaide International Kite Festival, however for those that don't travel interstate for those events anyway it's a non-issue. Share / Discuss thoughts... Also lookout towards the end of the month, i'll get a summery out regarding the meeting from Sandy Point regarding the new club once I get some time to finalise a few more items/updates for that email out. BobM
... i'll get a summery out ... Gotta hate those Winter-time ones. It gave me a good chuckle - thanks .Joel
jhn.holgate
I'm all for moving it to a more suitable weekend tide-wise. Doesn't matter whether it's before or after to me. labor day usually seems right on the end of the seabreeze/kiting season - so it may be better if it was before labor day.... end of Feb even
IMK
Here are options with low tides around midday to consider: 1) Fri 13th Feb (12.43pm), Sat 14th Feb (1.17pm) & Sun 15th Feb (1.59pm) 2) Fri 27th Feb (1.01pm), Sat 28th Feb ( 1.45pm) & Sun 1st Mar (2.33pm) 3) Fri 13th Mar (11.41am), Sat 14th Mar (12.13pm) & Sun 15th Mar (12.47pm)
.Joel
Option 2 or 3 looks good, Option2 give the afternoon breeze more time to come around and blow in. Lets see what others have to say / chime in.
Clive
Kiting....... Hmmmm let's see if I can remember how to do it....... Been that long since a day out actually had decent workable wind. Take whatever comes. Still tossing up about Easter for yepoon at the moment though, depends on workload etc.

nigel
Chances are I don't think my clan will be able to travel, with one bub about to pop out at the end of March I may be limited to just a day trip. There is also the Rosebud kite fest to go to if people don't head to Sandy Point. A free fly day on the Saturday, and the main fester on the Sunday (enclosed area for professional kiters). Big inflato single stringers are the main show, no room for buggies, and thousands of single stringer kids kites if you want to risk flying out in the public area. Lots of stalls (eg, CFA, Scouts, and food stands), stage for local bands and singers, and wandering entertainers for the kids. A good family day if you have another half (or more) who isn't in to kites. mik333
I'm happy with a more day friendly tide, but I will go along with the majority. Michael

.Joel
Alright, most votes are settling and overlapping on option 2 then? Let me know if everyone is happy with that as I want to get a quick newsletter out regarding the club, updates, status etc from the last trip and that way I can include the upcoming trip in there as well. bull31
"foot powder"....... John, he needs some cement to harden up a bit , if Mel won't give any sympathy then we probably shouldnt either. only joking Joel The colour of the grapes and your leg did match, enjoy your trip to sandy, I'm off to Kingston again this weekend, maybe more beach weather than buggy weather but prob do both. Cheers Bull
.Joel
Had X-Rays today, the ankle is not fractured from what's seen I just need to keep off it and let it rest for a couple of weeks. Fibula was broken at the top, it's healing. Asked when I had previously broken the Fibula, explained I hadn't it's the other leg I had broken. Dr then explained that I had clearly broken my Fibula in the past on another occasion Anyway, I can still walk so we're good for Sandy Point! Clive
Had X-Rays today, the ankle is not fractured from what's seen I just need to keep off it and let it rest for a couple of weeks. ! I reccomend you just sit down and put your feet up, and given you can do that in a buggy looks like doctors orders will be followed to the letter. Looking forward to seeing folks down there. jhn.holgate
Fridays' forecast looks very nice. Sunday looks brilliant (funny how Sunday's are usually really good isn't it Clive?). Monday could be good with a late arvo seabreeze...maybe. Saturday NE'ers around at the inlet. I hope to be down there midday Friday. Looking forwards to it. Clive
I've been watching the forecast intently, I can't believe Sunday is the pick of the days so far, I can swindle the other days but not that one...... Grrrrrrr Fridays picked up a fraction, 8-9 knots of very consistent wind would be sweet, get the toxics out 9 knots might be a handful with the 8m, cruisey with the 6.5 though 1 o clock low tide .... And isn't a low one .... Should be on the beach at say 10 am and ride until 5 pm, it's been so long since I had a run .... Here's hoping. Is the sandy point cafe up and running yet? Excellent With a really low tide at 1pm, we could still be on the beach till 5pm or so methinks. Looks like 12 knots almost straight on.
