ssayre
Got a new buggy transport. It's official use will be work but should work well for buggy transport. Can you guys get American trucks? Mez, windstruck and RedSky
jhn.holgate
Holy smokes!! Yes, there's a dealer of these monsters right next to where I get my ute serviced. And @bull31 has a similar type vehicle. Nice one, Sean. ssayre and Mez
andy666
Very nice. Yeah, there are a few dealers that import big yank tanks and convert them to right hand drive. they arent overly popular as the cost of converting to right drive is high and they are heavier on fuel then the smaller Japanese 4x4's. ssayre
ssayre
Thanks. Its a company truck, so it will be getting logos on the side and a ladder rack in the near future. It looks big in the picture, but it's only a 1/2 ton truck and is not 4 wheel drive. 4x4 version of this sits a little higher.

Goz
@Chook It may be a sacrificial wheelie bar for when he gases it at the lights with that monster buggy hanging off the back
socommk233
The rack was custom made for a tornado buggy. Few adjustments so it would fit my gt. I transport it without wheels now as they can cause issues over speed bumps. igeighty, Chook and jhn.holgate
igeighty
how did you manage the white walls ? what is the front tyre ? GT looks decent in black

socommk233
Actually that would be negative camber I belive. I transport it on the steel axle which I only use for my sysmic lenticular disc wheels. And put the big foots on the carbon axle only. Hence the camber on the stub axles. The white wall is professional white wall paint. I'd recommend against it.....goes yellow on new tyres. Only gets used on used tyres as the rubber gases out from new and the gases are what yellows them. Unless you done over 3000miles on yours

ssayre
Americans certainly do enjoy their trucks. Manufacturers seem to follow the trends and add stock features that just look cool. I wouldn't be able to justify or probably afford a truck like this so I'm grateful to my company to set me up nicely.

I cant work out why the GT's I have seen over east are set up from delivery with positive camber though. Has really got me stumped. Most buggys have 0 degrees for ease of construction or some negative to help with traction/cornering when powered up.

Or were the axles just put in lpose or the axle put on upside down? igeighty
igeighty
I just have the standard axle stubs on my GT., At the moment i am running kendas on 8x8 on the rear. however when i get a set of landseglar discs, i will also look at the cambered bolts from martin. I was curious as to which tyre you are running on the front, as my Beach Racer has next to no clearance on the guard. front rim is 4x8 sysmic. The white walls look the part, i know what you mean about the yellowing though, i did my 'kenda' lettering with a white tyre pen, and those are slowly turning yellow

I don't think so, as they are a quick hitch connection if they are the same as @roblukin's?

I'd swear they are at 90 degrees to the axle. I think this is Trevor in Nigel's buggy...
Chook
What a great photo of Trevor. (Really enjoyed his company in Kingston a top fella.) True they do look good in that photo I stand corrected, but not convinced. They are a drooly bit of gear the GT's with lots of thought gone into their design. The stability of @roblukin's smaller bug when he's throwing it about at speed on 2 wheels is amazing. There was no way Robbo would buggy for the longer periods he did this year at Yeppoon in his old PL bug. The seating is just superb. I spent some time seated in his just soaking up the ambiance and design wondering why I persevered with a plastic seat for so long. (I knew no different having nothing to compare it to). igeighty

Mad ? just mad keen. I have tried sourcing bike wheel builders in victoria, however quotes coming in for 16 inch rims custom build for strength is around $500 a wheel. bollocks to that. GSX wheels although cheap are very heavy. sysmics would be cheaper, but then i would just be a copycat If i can come up with the readies before heading to the UK in August, i can just nip across the channel and pick up a set i also enquired about the MG wheels, but was told he isn't making them anymore. 100 mm 'beach' spoked wheels are my kindve porn. oops i went off topic. Awesome GMC @ssayre. great for lugging the bug
