  1. Well, got the kite out of the bag today, just arrived, and I must say a neat bag, webbing/netting in the bottom to let sand out, air in. Instructions with it were for the Radsail series and with nothing about the the pro series. Usual handles and 110/60 kg lines, both of which I'll change soon, but this is my only gripe! The kite is bright and I mean BRIGHT, orange, grey and black.(not bright black by the way). Lines and handles attached... the kite sits lovely on the ground, then Wham! in about an 8mph wind I'm scudding with this kite and its got power. Not too much but enough. The kite turns nicely and is fairly fast through the air and Ive got to admit looks nice flying. Flies to the window and doesn't luff, sits in the zenith and doesnt over fly. This is yet, as I've only flown it for a couple of hours so I'll wait and see. Bridles are slightly wierd but work well and Ive got to say I love this kite! I even considered selling my 5.5 buster and buying another one. Well done Andy Preston, but you wouldnt expect anything less from this man. On the downside ....shame its called a radsail....I think this will effect sales. By : static
  2. RaceKites

    Eolo Radsail 3M

My firend and I both bought these kites as an affordable way to get into kiting and i was very impressed with the construction and of course the price, which still seems to be coming down! I have now been flying this kite for over a year and although i am thinking of upgrading just after i buy a new mountain board i will keep this kite for boarding as in the right winds it it plenty for pulling. I have found in the right conditions of suitable uplift i can jump over 5ft high with this kite but this is in pretty high winds and i am just over 11 stone. It has a tendency to drop you quite quickly so be prepared to land as i have smacked my ankles quite viciously in the past. It performs well in the air, is fast and pulls very well, in blustery conditions it is 'fun' to control and will pump up your forearms like balloons! I have only every flown this as a 4 line kite for the control and it is on the original lines. It has stood up to multiple crashes (i have sky jousted my firends Radsail on many an occasion when bored) through trees and along the sand although i am quite careful, i have lent it to other friends who are less so, it has minimal fraying of edges but all in all is in superb condition, it gets flown very regularly but my friends kite has suffered more wear and tear, he is a bit more hard wearing a kiter! I have had enormous fun with this kite, standing up and getting dragged along the wet grass at silly speeds, it's quite easy to keep it in the wind window when being dragged along and i can now set it up alone quite easily. Great kite for learning with and keeping as a nice, responsive 3m puller! By : Dan Wright
  3. RaceKites

    Eolo Radsail 3M

At first I was not sure what this kite was going to be like (hell, it's just under £130 for a 3.0m ready to fly!). I got the kite out of the bag and thought "looks quite good", it has a similar build quality to that of the Libre Boras. The kite is not made of Chikara like most other traction kites, but is instead made of 42g Polyester. The bridle arangement was a little bit fiddly to sort out due to the fact that the Eolo can be flown on 2 or 4 lines. After about 5 minutes it was ready for its maiden test flight. We had 12 - 19 MPH winds and wow did the kite pull!!!! Range 1.8m (2 line only), 2.4m and 3.0m (2 line or 4 line). Larger sizes expected in the next 6 months or so. Recreational Flying If you are just starting out in 4 line traction kites this would be great for you, as it is inexpensive and easy to fly. Jumping The Eolo seems to have some uplift, but not enough to inspire me to attempt superman jumps. However it might not help with the fact that I am 16 stone (And it is only a 3.0m!). lol. Buggying Wow, this kite really does pull like a train in winds of 13 - 20 MPH! So much so that this was the ONLY kite I used for buggying throughout the test day! The kite was fast through the sky and as it has little lift, I had no problems buggying with it. In fact I really enjoyed buggying with it! Verdict A very good kite for the money, and a great place to start if you want to get into 4 line traction kiting. Also this is a good kite to have for buggying in the higher wind ranges. Let's just say I will be adding one of these Eolo's to my kite collection when they are released at the begining of Feb 2002. By : Ostin Elkins
