  1. I've flown recreational for a few years and just starting to play with a buggy. (Thanks to lesson couple weeks ago first outing was good). Is there an area where people fly / buggy around Hastings? The huge football fields out the back of Bexhill Road (Bulverhythe) seems favourite, I flew there last week. Please let me know if there is another location and when as I'd love to pick up tips. Thanks. NB Bulverhythe rec is here https://goo.gl/maps/Ez2gX
  2. Hi All, I've been out of kiting for a bit and new to kiting in South Wales. I want to take advantage of the bank holiday and get out land boarding again. I'm based in Cardiff anybody got any advice on good kite spots or any meets/anyone heading out over the weekend. Cheers Scott
  3. Ladies and Gentlemen. Welcome to the all new 07 Coventry kite thread. Specially designed for kiters who fly in Coventry. Packed with loads of great new features, this is not just another kite thread. Useful links like: Wind Maps...........www.xcweather.co.uk Local Weather......www.metcheck.com/V40/UK/FREE/today.asp?zipcode=coventry Tide Times.......www.easytide.ukho.gov.uk/EasyTide/EasyTide/index.aspx Stainless Steel Welding.......MK sheet metal 024 7645 0406 ask for Gary Its a state of the art thread that will be full of useful kitey information, informative healthy banter and the occasional micky take. Right who's gonna be first to post then?

  5. Hi all, just putting the feelers out to see who's flying in Leicestershire. Would like to link up with flyers in the weekdays and also looking for a decent place to landboard as the local parks within Leicester just ain't sufficient.
  6. Well, tonight seemed like a bit of a new start down at G land, with a few of the old faces down on the beach. (But a few still missing. You know who you are. ) So thought I'd start a new thread. If you're planning a trip down, get in touch. Please remember that there will be restrictions when the lifeguards are on duty, but still leaves a huge beach to play on. Details here. http://forum.kitecrowd.com/location-guidelines-restrictions/gwithian-restrictions-09-a-165365.html Not sure of the dates this year, but the place we kite is basically where the restricted zone is, so makes no odds, as Godrevy is too busy during life guard hours anyway. Anyway. Good evening session tonight. A bit more wind would have been nice, but good to catch up.
  7. Oh deary, looks like our thread was lost in The Great Purge. Never mind, this is a nice shiny new one. Just to introduce ourselves, there's me, Ross (FreeTo Fly), Ally, Wee Andy, Balmedie Bam/Wallace/Ryan and a few other folk who I've not had the pleasure of meeting yet. Most of us are landboarders with a bit of kitesurfing thrown in (at various levels of success ) and can usually be found at Cockenzie (multi map link: http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?client=public&X=340000&Y=676000&width=500&height=300&gride=&gridn=&srec=0&coordsys=gb&db=&addr1=&addr2=&addr3=&pc=&advanced=&local=&localinfosel=&kw=&inmap=&table=&ovtype=&keepicon=&zm=0&scale=25000&down.x=192&down.y=5 And sometimes on the beaches at Dunbar, Gullane or Portobello, depending on the weather. Arthur's Seat is useable for flying, but tends to be nasty and gusty.
  8. Hello and welcome to Kempsey kite club we are a group of friendly kiters of all ages. We spend most of our flying time on one of the biggest and best inland flying field's in the U.K. We are based in Kempsey, Worcester our post code is: WR5 3PA We fly on a turf farm so as you can imagine the quality of grass is just out of this world. Also space is no longer an issue here, with over 300 acres of the smoothest turf you will not get bored. You have a gentle hill for those wanting to get big airs and a huge flat field for those speed runs. Most of the time we get clean strong winds from all directions. Directions to the Kite Field: 1- M5 Junction 7 2- Follow signs for Worcester and Malvern 3- At roundabout take 1st exit onto Crookbarrow Way A4440 signposted Worcester and Malvern 4- At next roundabout take 2nd exit onto Broomhall Way A4440 signposted Worcester and Malvern 5- At next roundabout take 1st exit signposted A38 Twekesbury and Kempsey 6- Continue forward entering Kempsey 7- Continue through Kempsey and then leave the 30mph zone 8- 500metres from 30 mile sign, take the second left after the Baynall Garage on the right. 9- Follow the signs KKC 10- If you get lost just call us Mark 07970433337 Paula 07709365200 or me SJ on 07896723532

(REMEMBER KIDDIES: Wear protective clothing @ all times, your safety is paramount, I was lucky, you might not be!!!) 13. Hi Anyone here flying near Chester? Are there any good local spots? I have been using the racecourse a little but it's very gusty. Would be good not having to fly on my own from time to time.
  14. As the weather seems to be clearing up but still decent wind i'm just wondering if anyone is about tomorrow? Its my first proper session back for a while for one reason or another but i'm dying to get out...was thinking rest bay (if its allowed there?) or aberavon?

  16. Spending a couple of weeks with the girl, but hoping to get a few hours flying in. Been pretty slack this season. Anyone want to meet up. Don't fly big stuff, but packing a small foil and Martin's legs for the hell of it! I'll be in the Woodside area, limited to bus, or lifts! lol Is there any static flying areas around there. Wondering if Telford Town Park has suitable spaces?
  17. Can anyone reccommend a good place to go for a buggy holiday on the West Coast of Scotland? I've been looking into Tiree, but the wife and kids are afraid they'll be bored after a few days. This will be a 8 day road trip with the whole family. Any other places with camping or hotels near the beach? Any tourist stuff I shouldn't miss in that area?
  18. Been out of the buggying for a while. Can buggying still be done at Henwick field, Thatcham. If not, can someone give me a list of places you can go to please cheers Alex

  23. Hi, Is there a group set up for kiters in the north east, I can't find one on the 'community' section? If not I reckon there's need for one, any takers if I set one up? (Most specifically Teesside - Redcar, Seaton etc if we get a group together from more locations in the NE there'll be more opportunity to hear about other good spots) Cheers, Rach:D
  24. Hi - Been hiding for about 6 years in Scandinavia but finally had to come back to Blighty for a short while..... What's the craig with buggying these days - used to spend a lot of time at the HO! in particular and was really after rules and regs generally so that I don't turn up somewhere and be disappointed. Is buggying still as big as ever or is it the dedicated few that still shoot off down the beaches at every chance they get. any info would be great thanks Frakke
  25. Hi All, I have been out of the kiting game for a year or so due to work commitments down south, however have decided that I should make the effort to continue flying whilst away 5 nights a week near to Hook, hampshire. I regularly pass Crabtree plantation, and individuals on this site have said it is a suitable place for both static flying and buggying, however would love to know everyones opinions thanks Emma
