After flying a friends flexifoil proteam 8 for a while I felt I needed a power kite of my own, and possibly a little bigger than the 8. I sought advice from some friends and joined this site and was slightly put off by the flexifoil prices, especially for my first kite. Finally I settled on a Beamer 2.5 having heard good things about value for money!
It has arrived! I first flew it in no more than 5kts and I was surprised that it even got off the ground let alone fly like it did, which was smooth and with a consistent pull.
Having taken it to the beach at the weekend in 8-9kts I am well chuffed with my purchase. It was fantastic to fly and an ideal transition from the two line flexifoil. It was more stable and generated more of a consistent lift than the 8.
I was standing on shingle when flying, but it gave the impression of a possible scud on something smoother in more of a blow:-)
From racing sailing dinghies and buying sails I can tell that the quality of build is excellent and the overall package of handles, lines, winder and backpack (massive zipper!!) was well put together.
The instruction manual was clear and not too long making setup very quick. I think its great!!
An excellent first Quad liner.
