yeah-well, not under the tree after all. But half a buggy arrived express just the other day, from China even(!). Also e-mailed with Chris, wheels, pegs and backaxle is on the way soon. It all fit together nicely, just slightly excessive long straps... 😄4 points

Curious as to who ended up going this year and taking the risk of being stuck over there ? Imagine being stranded in the same state as @sinbad for an extended period of time, I'd want to quarantine just to get away from him3 points

Kingston 2021

Mezz mentioned that she had her permits to me yesterday and I thought 'permits'? What permits? Thought I'd better look it up. Sure enough, if you're coming from interstate you need to fill in an online form and print it out so you can show it to police if stopped. Only takes a couple of minutes and I got an approval email within minutes of doing it. I have no idea how many of the roads into S.A. are patrolled and if you're likely to be stopped, but I didn't know we needed a permit to travel to S.A. from Vic (or elsewhere). Online form is here: S.A. Police travel application I'll be hea3 points -

Bugger. If they sell that, there'll be nowhere left for vans/tents at the caravan park. Waratah Bay was getting $$$ and Shallow Inlet was Yobboville last time I was there. (Doug and Mez were playing loud music till 3am). Anakie CP is nice but a bit of a drive. We'll have to all jump on @mik333's site at Foster. Surely Mick won't mind.....3 points -

disclaimer : I am not a very experienced kite-flyer, so this review is not going to be coming from a very scholarly perspective but if you are a fellow intermediate flyer, then maybe this can help you. Shipping: despite most of you chaps across the pond getting lucky with quick shipping, mine took over a week to arrive, and then I had to drive 50 miles to the nearest DHL to get it but for free shipping I can't complain. box was smashed flat, but kite was unharmed. First Impressions: out of the box, I was impressed with the stitching and the mate1 point -
Eolo Radsail Pro 3M
bakersdozen reacted to gorf for a review
Well here it is, my first kite review, and its for the Radsail Pro 3m Bought as a joint xmas 2008 pressy to myself and my wife. The previous xmas 2007 i had bought my wife a HQ Symphony 1.4, we both enjoyed flying it, especially in strong winds, and this is what gave us the urge to get somethng a bit bigger. After much deliberating we settled on a Radsail, which we bought online from Skyhigh Kites. The price was good (£125) and the delivery was very quick, After sales service was spot on as well, due to the fact that i managed to snap the accompanying dvd in half while1 point -
PKD Buster II 2M
bakersdozen reacted to rantrex for a review
I have finally got around to flying my PKD Buster II 2m. I bought the kite second hand off eBay before going on holidays to the beach. I had grand plans of spending some hours flying kites on the sand, but sadly children and visiting relatives got in the way. Yesterday I got the chance to scoot down to my local park to put the Buster II up for an hour. According to the Bureau of Meteorology, Brisbane was experiencing wind of 14 knots (26 km/h) gusting to 22 knots (41 km/h) at the time. Who knows what the wind was at my local park, but it seems about right. Bought off eBay, the Buster1 point -
DP Speed

DP Speed 5.0m Review I am writing this review as someone who has 4 years of experience of power kiting and I have owned several different makes of kite, plus I have been asked on the forum before to review it. Out of the bag I bought this kite from Atmosphere and Al there kindly had it delivered to my workplace, so I opened it up and inside is a black rucksack with one main pocket for the kite and another pocket for extra stuff on the front. I wouldn't say the bag was amazing quality but it's OK and does the job. When I laid the kite out on the floor it looked like good qua1 point -
HQ Beamer III 3M
bakersdozen reacted to harddrive for a review
I'll start out with a little background on myself. This past February, I bought several small kites from a large chain store in the US. They were cheap kites made for kids that had a single line that I still enjoy flying when I just want to relax. About a month and a half ago I bought the HQ Bolero online, and have progressed quickly with it. I've been wanting a quad line kite for a while now but thought I should crawl before trying to walk. I finally couldn't take it anymore thinking of the quad line kites out there so I started to research for what I wanted to get. I narrowed down the choice1 point -
Flexifoil Blade IV 4.9M
bakersdozen reacted to gresh for a review
This was my second kite, my first kite, a radsail 2.5m, was purchased 6 weeks earlier. I had allot of fun with it but soon realised that i needed more. So my patience broke and i went to my local kite shop, Write here Kite now in Shrewsbury, and left with a Blade IV 4.9m. Its a great little shop with friendly staff, and the owner is in the process of sorting a permanent all year round field for buggiers and boarders. He also organises several kite days throughout the year, check out their web page! First Impressions I dont have any real frame of refferance, as compairing it to the Ra1 point -
Pansh Legend
bakersdozen reacted to Simon Pure1600949558 for a review
Initial impressions were good, the kite seemed to be decently constructed. I had line twisting trouble that took about 20 minutes to sort out but I get that sometimes when I wrap my own lines. I stretched the lines as they do not come pre-stretched. After doing so there was very little difference in the line lengths. Once I had the kite out it took me a few adjustments to find the right brake length, but once I had that the kite was quick to respond and a nice stable flyer. I've flown it static and in a buggy. The first time I took it out on the buggy was on grass, and it flew well in gus1 point -
Prism Snapshot 1.9
bakersdozen reacted to jockeys for a review
disclaimer : I am not an experienced kite-flyer, so this review is not going to be coming from a very scholarly perspective but if you are a fellow newb, then maybe this can help you pick out your first kite... this was mine! I have been interested in kiting for some months now, and while shopping at Cabela's last week, I noticed that they had started selling Prism kites, and furthermore, that they had the Snapshot 1.9 for 30 bucks off, so I grabbed one. (only the purple one... guess no one likes that color) Setup: After reading the beginners guide on this site, I headed out to th1 point -
Sky Country Reflex 3M
bakersdozen reacted to flyingsean for a review
Manufacturer: Sky Country Model: Reflex Size: 3m A/R 5.1 Cells 34 Conflict of interest disclaimer First off, I am now associated with Sky Country. My official designation on the web site is 'Team Rider'. It is pretty funny considering my age, girth, and cranial follicle count, (we will not discuss direction of the ear lobe and nasal follicle count). I get to fly their demo kites and wrote the English text for their website. I did that because I think they have a great product that won't be available to me unless I help. My previous reviews were without prejudice. My gain w1 point -
Peter Lynn Synergy
bakersdozen reacted to adamski for a review
We have had Peter Lynns for a while now... starting with a 9m G2... we have loved flying them and have put up with the odd bit of "Character"... this character often showed itself in filling and launching... that and the low end of the wind ranges were never... "all that". So... have you been looking for a kite that is ludicrously easy to set up? One that produces shed loads of power... equal to a bow perhaps? a kite that has no pumps or bridles? one that forgives the odd mistake and doesn't attempt to beat you to a pulp in gusts? Here you go... try one of our Synergies... love1 point -
Peter Lynn Guerilla II 13M
bakersdozen reacted to the_bleep for a review
I was very lucky to get a Peter Lynn Guerilla2 13m last year, and it was one of the best purchases I ever made, at just £200 it was mega cheap, exactly the sort of price I was after. Heres my experience of it: Well, as with any kite, the first thing you notice is the bag. Very good bag, strong and durable, looks reasonable, but the fact you can extend it to double the size is very handy. You can easily fit 2 ARCs in when it's extended. I can easily fit in: kite, bar, lines, helmet, harness, lunch, 5m fixed bridle, 2 litres of drink and some other accessories. Anyway, you take out the1 point
