Anybody out there who can help the small (select:D ) group of buggiers that USED to fly at Sundorne Shrewsbury. We are slowly going stir crazy as we have nowhere to buggy. Council alternatives are rubbish and basically they don't seem to be bothered at all. There must be other kiters in the area Telford, Market Drayton. Can we come and play with you....please. F/O KIte

I sometimes play on it when the loony quad riders aren't doing daft things around there. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a394/Sand-Yeti/BigRed.jpg Big Red is 55 kms South East of Dubai just off the Dubai - Hatta road.

Greetings, Any of you guys do 'long distance' buggy trips? By long I don't mean crazy distances like the Gobi Desert crossing.......more like 9kms one way then return. I can kite from Toogoom to Gatakers Bay (or pretty close to it before it turns to mud.....) and back on lower low tides and N winds......it's about 9kms one way. I'd like to do this next time the weather's right......just wondered if anyone else does this sort of thing. Unless I start from Toogoom Creek, I'll be using my GPS to find my way back to my starting point. At least if I start from the creek, I'll know when I'm back when I hit the water

Greetings, How many of you do buggy runs of any significant distance? I've got a section of beach which, at lower low tides, will allow me to travel approx 9kms in one direction before having to turn around and return. Now I realise this isn't very far, but it'll be the furthest I've gone in one direction so far. I've got a Geko201 GPS, which (depending on where I start from) I'll need in order to find my starting point again......the beach isn't 'populated' as such and is *very* wide (probably 800 metres or more on really low tides), so I'll be quite a distance off the beach on the return and there's no reference points to look for on this trip.....jus…

I find it normal these days to hum or even sing out loud (nobody hears me fortunately) when blatting along. It seems I get one melody in my head that sticks with me. I have been having, 'Don't Cry for me Argentina' turning around for a couple of weeks now and can't seem to find another melody that will replace it. I'm sure the song will be replaced by a new one in the near future. Sometimes, I find on occasion a particular song irritating and seem unable to shake it out of my mind. Quite annoying, to say the least Do any of you guys have this problem and do you hum or sing when blatting along in your buggy? I have just put a vid. in the Kite video section with the …

What happens when you fly too close the sun? The wax melts and your wings fall apart. Lucky for us, technology has moved on and we have the kind of sh1t that the greeks could only dream of. This is only a teaser. More sh1t to come. Don't wanna steal Lukes thunder.... (yes Zeus, pun intended) mike

This is my Christmas hymn but am not poetic enough to write anymore words. Christmas morning was windless, so decided to do photo shoot of my 3 buggies, which are all very strong chariots now. They are all in good working order except to change a wheel bearing on the PL. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a394/Sand-Yeti/3Bugs03.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a394/Sand-Yeti/3Bugs14.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a394/Sand-Yeti/3Bugs07.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a394/Sand-Yeti/3Bugs06.jpg These aren't the prettiest buggies in the world but do the job and are quite comfy.

As many of you know, I have had a few exploits riding the UAE Deserts and last Friday I took off for one of my usual sessions. Heading towards winter, the hot weather has dropped off and we are now sitting comfortably in the low 30’s. Parked under the ghaf tree, I laid out my 4m Tattoo that had been repaired over a year ago. PTW had kindly been taking care of it until I could collect it recently in his pleasant Lincoln home. Sadly, the repair was incomplete and there were 3 torn cell separators. It didn’t really matter because the wind eased allowing my trusty 6.5 Blade to be the best engine choice. Sadly, it’s looking a bit miserable these days as it no longer h…

If you've got a sweet looking customised belly pan you're proud of then post it here for all to see. I'm currently making one myself and was wondering what looks good, what works well, what methods work best (paint/vinyl/other) etc. So post em here:) :)

DO YOU BUGGY JUMP? Just wondered how many of us out there are Buggy Jumpers? I am a Buggy Jumper and quite frankly LOVE IT and can't get enough of it. I still love freestyling and ripping up and down the beach, but for me - the heart starts pumping faster when I'm in the air;)

As you can see from my other thread I'm off to try on a few CLIMBING HARNESSES at Cotswold Outdoor Leisure place (on saturday now). I've emailed the guy asking if he has the Black Diamond stuff in stock, he's asking me if its for Traditional or Sport Climbing i mainly do? Well, Its neither isn't it:rolleyes: So my question is: 1) SHOULD I SAY ITS FOR BUGGY JUMPING and risk the guy not selling me it as its not meant for that? or 2) SHOULD I LIE LIKE A DOG saying Im a Traditional Climber that falls alot? or 3) SHOULD I LIE LIKE A DOG saying Im a Tree Surgeon or Cliff Clearance Guy that hangs around alot? This is the email i sent them: I …

JOINED THE UNCONSCIOUS CREW ON MONDAY:eek: Yep, after over seven years of kiting, I finally managed to knock meeself stupid this monday. I was showing off as usual, but as usual no-one was looking, so I shout "Ear Tez watch this"... ...the rest is a blank... So in case you missed the thread on our local fly site page (as you would), here it is in some of its glory... There's several takes on what happened but the more I think about it the more comes back to me. What I reckon is this: Wind was pretty gusty, but always is wher we fly. I sent the kite for a jump steering a little too directly into the wind than normal. I had good speed and got a good lif…

WHAT HARNESS IS EVERYONE FAVOURING FOR BUGGY JUMPING? I've been jumping with the Petzl Corax for nearly a year now, but find its not brilliant with the larger kites I'm now using such as the 8.5 and 6.6 Blades:rolleyes: Even though I got the 'small' size (after trying some on) the leg straps quickly loosen off, letting the harness ride up round my chest and ribs. Not much padding either - after a few hours i can tell I've been wearing it even though I've added a Dakine spreader bar pad to the equation. It still seems to ride up and i take all the strain on my stomach - its like someone turning a tourniquet (excuse spelling) round me guts after a while:eek: …
