G'day ppl, Just got home from Sandy Pt, unfortunately i had to leave earlier than i wanted to (dam maths exam tomorrow morning), anyway i gotta say i had a great time, even if the winds werent the right direction or strength, and the tides wrong. I learnt a heap, and a huge thanks to Justin and Nigel for their help and knowledge (and patience ), made the learning curve alot easier. I got to fly a few different kites, tried the mountain board (sucked at that), and the buggy (a few more hours and i'd almost have the hang of it). And i gotta say, the buggies are a blast and i gotta get me one! But Justin dont worry, i will stick with the ATB as well, as i wanna get …

Gday, well in about a month, my buggy will be finished, and i hope to also have a mountain board of some sort, and another foil apart from a 1.7m 2 liner..... now i was speakin to Gav on Friday and he said he's keen for a session at Sandy Pt, and i am dead set on the idea of hooning down a beach for 5km without stopping, etc, so who else would be in? it wouldnt be for a month or so, but when my buggy is closer to finished, we'll set a date and organise. Would people prefere a 1 day or 2 day session? I'd be keen for either, as i intend on bringing my LEI and board, as well as the land stuff, so it wont matter me unless there's no wind. So please let me know if …

Hey Guys, My first venture into this site so forgive any errors etc. Had a bit of a read. Man can you guys waffle on.... Justin - maybe find a Subaru site? Going to be going to the Adelaide Festival buggy racing to defend the Victorian supremacy over there and just interested to know of any others going across. Doing the independant travel arrangements in case of work interference so can't offer anyone a ride sorry. Craig not coming this year due to his brother's wedding in Thailand (There's a bucks night I'd like to be invited to) so need other Vic buggy reps to help annoy the locals over there. Details: 23rd and 24th March, Racing at Lower Light Beach, camp…

Hi Guys, The wind is going to be absolutely primo this Saturday (the 9th April) for landboarding at Eastern Park. If anyone's got some spare time, please pop down. Eastern Park (off Hearne Pde) in Geelong is one of the best spots in Australia for landboarding (IMO), and the grass has just been mowed! There's not too many days in the year when the conditions are so good on a weekend (last Saturday was one of them), so it'd be great to see a few crew down if ya able to make it. Anytime in the arvo, but I'll be there from 3pm till dark. Alex Sanz might be coming down with the video cam too. It's not a big area, but it's big enough... Here's a couple of pics... …

What a time! 11 Cars, around 8 buggies, 4 or 5 land boarders and more kites than anyone could have flown in a long long time. As per normal waited for the Easterly to roll in around 5pm and spent the first few hours prior to that just sitting around waiting and playing with the occasional solid thermal as it rolled in from any direction. The easterly came in about 5, nice and strong and constant. Land boarders reported that the surface was a bit soft for the smaller wheels. It was observable that the surface had changed. The soft layer on top was a little deeper, before solid ground could be found. Probably due to the rain we have had recently, softening up th…

A group from Canberra will be at the Lake around 14:00 on the Saturday or Sunday to play around until around 17:00 when the serious winds come in. Then we sail on until you can't see the kites no more, or your body can't take the strain, which ever comes first. Heaps of kites and buggies. Landboarders, and anyone else with kit who wants to meet some new friends, welcome. Catchya in the wind! Gary

Buggy Day Lake George Canberra 12/04, and an invite for the 8th of Jan! With four buggies, about twenty kites and five guys (four of whom had never been to the lake) spirits were high as we travelled out the dry bed of Lake George, from Canberra. Lake George, is about 40 minutes north of Canberra, along the Federal highway heading towards Sydney. For the last four years, it hasn?t had any water of merit, and therefore represents what can only be likened to the Salt Lake Flats in the US. The surface whilst looking hard on top is actually quite soft which means one can throw a buggy completely sideways and enjoy huge slides cutting into the surface about 20mm. ( htt…

It was possibly the worst wind we have experienced at the Belmont Common - 10-25 knots, Westerly most of the time - and coming over the treetops... Full article and pics now online at the KP website: http://www.kitepower.com.au/news/index.php?news Here's a teaser: Justin getting splattered in the mud :-) The next round (Sat 11th Dec) should be some good fun - with any luck, the winds will be spot on - there's nothing like the joy of flying kites in clean wind. Cheers, Goshen

Event set up for the speed sailors out there. Will also include kite surfing??. The event is on the SHQ web site: http://www.shq.com.au/shq/newsandevents/asp_news_and_events_item_detail.asp?newsAndEventsId=40 I have also heard from one of the Blokart guys that they have been invited, so I don't see why we (kite buggyies) would not be allowed to take part if time and space permit. I do find it funny that the Foreshore Management don't want us there, and now there is a large group of peole turning up for an event, we are invited with open arms?????? Well the Blokarts are???

Does anyone know what the beaches are like for buggying to the East of St Malo in Brittany? My AA France 2002 map shows a massive expanse of sand between St Malo and Avranches some 18 miles long and 5 miles wide! The legend on the map suggests it is definitely sand but doesn't say whether it is showing it in low tide. Anyone been around this area? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v292/russgunn/LWF0000.jpg

0304 Victorian Kitetraction Series has now been completed. We ran 6 events in all, with 27 competitors entering the series. Thanks to everyone who attended. For the first time, we had more Landboarders than any of the buggy categories, and the event even implemented a small freestyle section. The Open Buggy was hotly contested, with competitors flying the latest Libre, Ozone and Airea Kites. The Landboarding is getting interesting now too, with Justin Schulz on the G-10 Arc untouchable in the final race, but still not enough to take out the series. Contgratulations to Nigel for winning the Open section. Full results, and pics are now online, where you can view…
